Just quit smoking, my girlfriend's parents introduced me to the GG pipe...

Having problems fitting new blank cartomizers... Filling it using the condom method, the insides of the cartomizer seem moist enough to vape but i'm still getting that horrible burning taste from a fresh cartomizer...

Any input on where i'm going wrong?? Loving the vape, it's better than smoking, but the technical problems are really doing my head in.

Just a couple of minutes, i've been soaking the cartomizers in the condom, letting it soak up and then vaping... How long should i be waiting?

I don't wait at all, never had a burned carto that was properly filled. How much fluid did you put in the condom?
You simply press the carto down into the juice slowly until fluid comes out the other end.

I'm using 510's - I think the one i just tried to fill might have to be tossed... I'll start over again and look for the juice coming out the other end.

On a steep learning curve with my GG, went from analog's to 6v vaping in a matter of days. Trying to play catch up is pretty hard but there's alot of good info on the forum. And the 6v GG is working really well for me, been smoking 20 a day since i was 11 and don't miss it in the slightest.

Cheers for the help and info

Marry that girl ! She's got good parents anyway who must like you a lot. LOL

Over fill the cartos. You don't want moist, you want wet wet. I fill with the condom from the bottom and watch it come to the top, then let it sit and settle down, or I tap it on the table a few times to pack the juice in, then I drip a few extra in the top to top it off. You will have to blow it out slightly to clear the center pipe of extra juice.

You might want to try clear body cartos so you can see if there is any filler that is not getting saturated with juice. When this happens I use a syringe to wet those areas.

I am not well versed in HV carto vaping. That could be the problem. The match of carto and HV takes a specific type. The middle of the filler is drying and cannot keep up with the heat used and wicking to get wet in the middle before next puff. Look in the ikenvape forum here: IkenVape and see if there are pointers in there for your chosen setup. I say iken because of the carto-not the gg.

Off topic~ Hey B-❤ I was rolling the ⚃⚂, trying to help!

Yes, good point. What are the ohms of the carto? If you've got low resistance cartos at 6v, no matter how much you fill them, they will burn. You need 3ohm or higher for 6v. I hope that helps.

They're good people! And we actually got engaged yesterday oddly enough!

I found out the Carto's i'm using are 3ohm... So they should be able to keep up the 6v - pretty sure i was just filling the carto like a n00b! but hey; everything is a learning curve with vaping i've found... Still loving it!

The forum's really helping, so much good advice on here, and vaping has already become like a hobby for me!

Driving a Ferrari the day after you get your license is bound to be tricky for anyone...

6v vaping is an art in an unto itself!

My suggestions: Get a nice tank to go with that nice tool. It's a lot of power to run into almost any carto.

Most likely, what HzG8rGrl said is spot on (paraphrased): "Whatever carto it is, regardless of the resistance, it is simply not wicking fast enough for that high voltage appliance"

It that is the case, no matter how you fill it, it is always gonna burn...

So, for now - until you find the carto, atty, or tank that works:

    1. Soak it as best you can
    2. Take short puffs (like 3 seconds max) and then let it set for as long as you can tolerate (1-3 minutes) while it re-wicks
    3. Shop carto's, and maybe even tanks - I've heard good things about the dual coils from Smok Tech at high voltage.

Personally, I've used 1.7ohm Smok Tech Dual coils on a 5v appliance with no burning (never tried them at 6v! But several suppliers have them at higher resistance)

Now, that being said - personally, when I use the 510 and 808 mini carto's (I mostly only use Echo big cartos these days) I tried the condom bottom filling method and discovered HUGE variations depending on: Juice Thickness, Filler Type, and Carto Design. Like, sometimes it works, other times it hardly works at all...

If you get a thick liquid on a cart with a tight filler, and it will barely seep in with the condom method...

So, I'd bite the bullet and drip from the top... It's a nuisance on those tiny little carts, but we're only talking about a few days until something a little bigger arrives... The best way, if you don't have a syringe (first search youtube, there's tons of cool videos showing you how to do it), then - remove the cap (mouthpart), drip 5-7 drops allowing them to run down the metal into the edge of the filler, let it sit 20-30 minutes, then drip another 5-7 drops.

That's the way to manually fill a carto with a tight filler.
It's a pain in the ...., but it's pretty reliable... Then back to short puffs, let it rewick...

Pretty quickly, you're going to find a combination that let's you puff as much as you want, as often as you want, and not have to worry about filling so often... Just be patient, and have fun experimenting! It just gets better and better...

...and congratulations on your engagement! The gift of quit smoking is the best gift you can give!

I agree with others who have said that vaping at 6 volts with just about any carto is going to be tricky. I can even burn 3 ohm cartos at 3.7 volts if I get careless and let it get too dry. To put it another way, 4.44 watts of power is being used by 3 ohm carto at 3.7 volts. At 6 volts, that same 3 ohm carto is dissipating 12 watts of power! What that means is the heat produced is about 2.7 times greater at 6v. Using 3 ohm cartos is by no means unusual but I would also try some higher resistance cartos such as 4 or 5 ohms. The good advice on vaping technique proposed by others here is the key to it all regardless of what you are using. Its not a big deal at all. Just a bit of a learning curve!
    Best Of Luck!
