I smoke to about a pack of Marlbaro Reds a day..

I have recently purchased the Blu but i did not like it so i am going to return it.
But the thing is i chose the HIGH nicotine cartridges and i am almost done going through all of them within a week.. That cannot be good..

How much mg of nicotine would i need? =\

Thats a difficult subject. If you do a lot of looking around here you'll find a lot of debate about how much nicotine we really are getting from the E cigs. I don't know the answer, but most people say to start with 24mg/ml and go from there.

Some have supplemented with snus to get a bit more nicotine. I was never a heavy smoker and am doing fine with 18mg/ml. For me the whole oral fixation and habit thing is a big part of quitting.

Good luck

For some reason, the mg level seems independent of what the vaper used to smoke. I've read where some heavy consumers do just fine with one of the lower nic juices. On the other hand others, like myself, smoked mild cigarettes and required a higher nic content to avoid cravings. My conviction is the reason is the different manner in which we actually vape.

In any case, almost everybody agrees that you'll need to experiment to find out what is right for you. My personal opinion is to start out higher than you imagine would be right. That will curb your cravings, and you can cut back as needed. That, and juice can be diluted, or cut, if it turns out to be too strong.

How do i cut/dilute the e-juice?
So sorry, I kinda sorta overlooked that you're ordering/using pre-filled cartridges. My apology. I was talking about eliquid, or juice, which can be used to refill those carts. Juice can be diluted with zero nic eliquid, pg or vg. That will also reduce the flavor concentration, unless you use flavored juice or flavorings.

When we talk about nic content, we're saying milligrams per milliliter. So, 24mg juice means 24 milligrams per milliliter. The amount of that nicotine which will enter your bloodstream depends on various factors, especially your vaping style.

Hi, I am new to e-cigarettes aswell. The quantity of nicotine you should have can only be told by yourself. I've been smoking 15 Lucky Strike cigarettes a day and the e-liquid I ordered contains 18mg/ml. In the beginning I felt like breathing air but within 2 days my body was already getting used to a lower amount of nictotine and now after just a week I don't even think about a real cigarette ( first 2 days I constantly did). Once you have the liquid try it out and trust your body, you will soon find out what is the best quantity.

We're talking about body chemistry here so it's a little different for everybody but ya gotta start somewhere. Here's what I did. I started with 18 mg (I was also a pack a day smoker) and I was still having cravings so I stepped it up to 24 mg. The cravings stopped without any adverse effects (heart racing, dizzyness, etc) so I was good. After a month I stepped it down to 20 mg (I was mixing my own juice by then which allowed me to do that). Then I knocked it down to 16 mg this month. That's my plan and so far I haven't had any cravings since the beginning. I'll be nicotine free before long as well as smoke free but I have NO plans to quit vaping.

Great I see someone already did what I had in my mind. Sometimes I feel like 18mg/ml Is not enough, so I'll try to use your method. Thanks a lot for the suggestion :D

New guys need an idea of nic. level to start & if you haven't seen DVap's posts you should find this interesting.

DVap has researched it & come up w/ a good formula.
EXAMPLE
DVap said:
We had 20 full flavor analogs per day delivering 20 mg of nicotine per day. I've found that we need to vape 2.5X the nicotine, or 50 mg/day, so we might vape ~2.5 mL of 20 mg or ~1.5 mg of 36 mg. We're putting ~ 50 mg of nicotine onto the atomizer coil because of that 50 mg, only 40% or 20 mg of nicotine makes it into the vapor and into our bodies. So by vaping 50 mg of nicotine per day, we are delivering 20 mg of nicotine per day to our bodies.
Most are vaping between 2-3ml/day. Combine all this w/ other posts & 24 is a good starting point.

I was smoking 1 pk/day which would indicate 24mg. I knew that & was expecting some 24mg. when I got first PV, the eGo but all was 16 mg. Ordered some e-liquid & after 2 wks finally some 24mg & 18mg came in.

Thanks so much for the hint SirVette. Even if those calculations are far from being scientific I analysed my body reaction related to the quantity of e-juice I was vaping and even considering an hypothetical percentage that wouldn't reach my body and I came to the same coclusion. I'm glad to see someone can share things like this in this forum. In the Italian one I was signed in before if someone would have dared saying something like that everyone would have jumped at him like they were all professors and scientists asking for scientifical evidence and so on... and the funny thing is they were so intelligent they couldn't even understand the difference between inhaled and absorbed... god I spent hours giving them the definitions and explaining and all they managed to do was blocking my thread. I was so disgusted I went away and I'm glad to see here is completely different.

Hadn't seen that formula before but it seems pretty close to being accurate in my experience.

Me too.

I usually recommend starting at 24mg's. You can always bring the nic level down, but you can't bring it UP without mixing with other juices with an even HIGHER mg content.

Best of luck and you can DO it!!
