Firstly, hello! 1st post and all.
Right. So a few days ago i made the leap into the world of vaping, and i'm really glad i did! Got me down to a single roll up a day at most already, incredible stuff. Really excited to get into the hobby too! Looks like something i will find myself spending way too much money on though
So here's the thing, and its a thing apprently alot of newbies are getting pulled into. I go into my local shop, and give him the "I want to get into this, what should i get?". Shop man responds with "Well you want one of these fancy Sub ohm jobbies. All the vapour, all the flavour.". So i pick up what he reccomends. In this case, a Subtank Nano and an Istick 50W.
Timeskip to now. I've played around with different wattages, different juice and different techniques. It was a bit harsh to begin with (understandable cos Sub ohm coils run hotter (i think, right?)) so i did a little reading, got me some 100vg juice, which i love!. Plenty of airflow with the hit, no mouth to lung buisness and running at 15W and i'm pretty happy with it. Thing is, in my search for information i discovered some pretty alarming saftey warnings about sub ohm vaping, so here i am laden with worries and questions.
Alot of people have warned that you should be very conciouss of battery saftey when sub ohming, as the low resistance puts a greater load on the battery. Should i be concerned about this with all the shop bought mods, i.e my Istick 50w? Can i just stick any old coil with any old mod and vape happily? ( i get the feeling this isn't the case)
Secondly, i saw a few vids and posts about superheating your liquid, particularly that a single .5 ohm coil would get way too hot and turn the liquid into crazy things (freaking formaldehyde?). This is exactly what came in my Subtank nano, a single .5ohm coil!. I feel like they wouldn't just sell that if it was dangerous, but then if it sells, i suppose they're gonna sell it.
Sorry for the long post! I felt some context was important.
