Hey, new to vaping and I have made some mistakes, but I think I am happy with my current choices.
I decided to try e-cigs a few weeks ago as a friend of mine was diagnosed with 4th stage lung cancer. Being that I am a 4th stage colon cancer survivor, I thought it might be prudent to be a little smarter with my habits.
I tried a Blu disposable, and while it was not great I thought I would give it a shot. So I followed the hype and grabbed the starter pack. It was like sucking on a straw. No vapor, no throat hit, no nicotine, no battery life... it had nothing to offer. I thought for sure I was doomed to take up analogs again.
I spoke with some friends who were vaping and started trying their rigs. I found a few that I liked. I met up with my uncle who has been vaping for some years now. He has several "over the counter" e-cigs and vaporizers, and a few modded units and personal builds. I walked away with a good amount of knowledge, and a good idea of the path I was going to follow.
I decided that doing a lot of modding was not for me at this point. It may be something I step into in the future, as I do have extensive knowledge of electrical theory and operation as a master drivability auto technician with 25+ years of experience, but for now I am just noth that hard core into a build. So I decided to go the "over the counter" route for the time being.
I really enjoyed my uncle's selection of Halo juices, and I liked his Halo Element. But since the Element is no longer available I opted to go with a Halo G6 unit for use in public, and to get my family familiar with, and comfortable with my vaping. I never smoked analogs in my house. They are ecstatic that I no longer smell like cigs, and am not taking in all the carcinogens anymore. I decided to step up my vaping with a Halo Triton. I decided to go with the variable voltage battery so I could play a little bit at first. I am here to learn a bit more about playing with the Triton, changing it's coils, and whatever else I can do with this as a base.
So here I am... a week without a smoke (even had a couple inspiring evenings with a bottle of bourbon and some friends without a smoke) and feeling better. Oh yeah, I do love my whiskey and a cig, so this G6 has been a great diversion at the most difficult of times.
