i've started vaping for around 3 weeks now, i'm running on a smok m65 paired with a kanger mini. everything was running fine for the first week till i tried to change my cotton for the OCC coil, i kept getting burn dry taste then tried changing cotton again and again till i learned i had a burned coil when i replace it with a rba coil. everything went smoothly till i tried to change my cotton again. but this time round it isnt the burn dry taste it's more to tasteless, there's lots of vapour and throat hit but totally tasteless. i've been changing cotton again and again trying to fix the problem but nothing seems to work. i really hope i can fix this problem by learning why and how instead of replacing a whole new coil and i really need all of the advice and tips from you guys as i'm trying to quit smoking

Hi iiko and welcome to the forum!

I think jdurand may have come up with what the problem is. It's called vaper's fatigue or vaper's tongue, and it is real.

Here's an excerpt from the A list of symptoms when quitting tobacco and changing to an ecigarette post here on ECF:

'Vaper's Tongue'
Many vapers report that all e-liquids lose their flavor for a period. Another factor is the change in taste perception, mainly a loss of taste, caused by smoking, together with its return after tobacco cessation, followed by a period experienced by many when taste goes dead for a time during the first few months off cigarettes, even for those who have not used menthol. Vaper's Tongue soon passes. Some people give advice in how to speed up the return of taste, which can include methods such as vaping unflavored refills, using specific mouthwashes, and so on; but the sense of taste soon returns whatever is done or not done.

Hope it helps and Happy Vaping!

Your vape experience can be determined by several factors, including:

Coil resistance: if to low in ohms, the vapor can appear to be too hot to be enjoyable.

Air flow: Most of the upper end tanks allow for adjustable air flow to the heating coil. Without adequate air flow, the vapor can appear to be too hot.

Wicking material: Many materials to choose from including organic cotton (without hydrogen pyroxide or bleach treatments), cotton bacon, Ko Gen Do (Japanese cotton), Rayon or cellucotton, silica string. Nearly all need to be saturated with e-liquid prior to vaping. Using too much or too little wick can affect vaping experience.

wow great info ! I appreciate it. But ERM so what's my problem actually? Everything only happened when I change cotton. I've look through YouTube over and over again and I can't seem to find my mistake.

You never mention one word about the juice you're using.

Did you switch just before the No Taste?

Maybe you're just using a Wuss Juice. Like I just got a bottle of.

Moon Mountain (Stellar) Cosmo's Custard. Nice vapor with my EVOD but hardly Any taste. Wuss juice. So little throat hit, flavor, it's
hard for me to tell I'm even getting a hit.

I'm not familiar with your set up, but if it isn't 'vapor fatque' try lowering wattage and or adjusting air flow. Also be sure your wicks are properly primed(puts some juice on it and let it soak in a bit) before firing.
yaps I did put some juice before firing. And even let it sit for awhile. My guess is I didn't wick my coils properly
