Hi, all! New to vaping (about three weeks); was a pack a day plus Marlboro smoker, off and on for over twenty years. Hubby still smokes more than a pack a day, sometimes two packs.

Ordered a kit from apollo with pre-filled cartos; quickly used them and abandoned them to refillable ones with eliquid. Much prefer the eliquid! MUCH prefer.:p

Getting pretty good at refilling them; spinning them, etc., etc. This is supposed to be better tasting/more economical than prefilled, correct?

Feel like a strange member of some underground society; no one where I live vapes - people look at me like I'm an alien when I'm vaping on my front porch with my children...guess they would rather have me blowing ciggie smoke at my kids...they just don't know what I'm doing, I'm sure.

Hubby tried the disposable that came with my order; HATED it!!!! I thought it was okay, although I wouldn't buy another - I'd only take a free one if it came with my order.

Anyway, thinking of buying something more substantial to vape with; a tank system, or a vtube, esp. since it's on sale. Thinking of giving my original kit to my hubby to try. He would love to quit smoking but NOT with that disposable! I think he'd love the eliquids, too - he has tasted mine and likes it.

Recommendations are welcome. I am afraid I will not be able to use the vtube. It appeals to me because of the battery life (I only vape at home) and the fact that it can use a tank cartomizer, or I can learn to drip different liquids, since I still haven't experimented much.

Thanks for your help/opinions on the matter.

Oh, hubby smokes Marlboro Special Blends - the stronger ones - what eliquid might appeal to him, or should I just get a variety of things he likes the flavor of and encourage him to try?

Hi and welcome to ECF,

Congrats to you, and it is great that your hubby is at least interested. I live with my sister and they treated my vaping kinda like a joke til it was the one thing that finally helped me get off cigs.

As far as a new set up for you, what are you wanting besides longer battery life and tank system. What concerns you about being able to use the vtube?

I would suggest getting him a variety, he might need stronger nic lvl tho.

Good juice is the secret to quite smoking. You wont quit smoking with shiz juice...
You'll get a ton of replies but to any new person what I would suggest is,

An ego twist 1000mah or a mini lava tube
A couple of vivi nova v2.5 tanks
good juice
(these are bigger devices)
If your looking for a smaller pen style device,
I got the imist system from vaporcigzz a couple days ago and I'm really loving it, and it's all I've used the passed couple of days.

Agree with most of the posts above and recommend Joyetech on ego twist's. I haven't tried the twists yet but no issues with Joyetech on quality. Ditto on the Vivi Nova V2. Hits like a freight train. Just got in some Kanger T2 V2 CC clearomizers as well. Not sure on longevity but they draw easy and produce ton of vapor.

Thanks! I like the mini vtube; is that what you're talking about with lava tube, or are they actually different brand names? The vivi nova tank has the cartomizer inside of it? Is that how it works? How long does one of these tank cartomizers last - do you clean it and use it a long time? I will give my pen devices to my hubby, or use them when I go out of the house, I think.

yes the vtube and the lava tube are the same device. As far as the vivi nova no it doesn't take cartomizers, it is more of a clearomizer just instead of the small tube it is a tank and the heads are replaceable or rebuildable. The heads on it can last a couple weeks, just clean them when they start to gunk up.

Ezra do not be intimidated "for experienced vapers", you will find that on most things that are not sr or are more than just 3.7 volts. Just make sure to follow the safety instructions with them, and if you have a question no matter how silly it may seem to you, ask it. Would rather see someone ask something silly than risk getting hurt because they didn't know better on something.

Nancy, thanks so much. I wish I had known about this site/come on here prior to ordering my starter kit with the pen style batt. Oh, well. They will go to good use, either as a backup while charging my VV or for my husband. I am prob. going to buy the vtube; it seems such a good price. I will not get the ss one; I will get the red one - to me it looks less like some kind of alien device; kind of fun! I'm sure you will see me more when I get the thing; I will probably need help. Want to try lots of juices and intro my hubby to them. Bless you!

the vivi nova isnt a cartomizer tank, it's technically a clearomizer tank. it uses a top coil with wicks similar to the CE2s & CE4s. the juice goes thru the wicks & into coil, No cotton filler. Many prefer the cleaner flavor, myself included, but many swear by cartos. Carto tanks are very popular & can be found very cheap at most ecig sites. I suggest watching some you tube if you go this way. Seach "filling DCT tank"... good luck, finding what works best for you is the bigest challenge in vaping I've found.

My husband and I both decided to try ecigs at the same time and when I was ordering the juice he was adamant that he wanted his to taste like the real thing not anything fruity, well he changed his mind after he tried his then tried mine, now he prefers the fruity flavors lol

I,m 4 months into vaping after smoking Marlboro reds for 25 years, I had to for my health. I still want a regular cigarette but the Ecig keeps me going. I love all the different flavors and you can adjust nicotine levels. After spending alot of money I wound up with the Ego twist and several rebuildable clearomizers. They are cheap, easy to clean/refill, and replace the heads/coils. Yes my friends look at me like I'm smoking a neutron crack pipe but It keeps me sane and they love the cotton candy smell that follows me...lol Good luck with the hubby..just let him try some different flavors till he finds one he likes..plenty of sampler packs out there. From a newbie here too

I agree with Nancy. I think we all become "advanced users" after we spend 48-72 hours vaping instead of smoking.

Once you realize that vaping CAN AND WILL actually keep you from lighting up the real thing you have become an "advanced Vapor" and you shouldn't look back.

Buy a FEW PV's Exra329. They are CHEAP compared to cigarettes and I feel it's good to have a few E Cigs to mess around with especially in the beginning.

Try the Smokbox Varicool by Smoktek Link Here or one of their other models. I tried a Lava Tank Mini and it was garbage. I have a Provari (In the shop) and this unit is very simple to use and problem free. It'll take you wherever you want to go. Very small will fit in your purse.

Battery life is over 24 hours.

The Provari is a very high standard to meet, so if I'm satisfied with this device it has to be good.

You might look at the white with the strobing LED they are out of the Black but should have in a week.

Pair it with the Vivi Nova 2.5 Discountvapers dot com has some tremendous prices on these.
Vivi holds around 3 ml of Juice so you don't have to refill very often. It is a clearomizer tank so you avoid the nasty taste from the polyfill tanks (Arguable)

Finally go with a premium ejuice. I recommend 100% VG Organic from discountvapers dot com or Vaperite dot com or virginvapors dot com.

For tobacco flavors
Everyone on the forum is raving about HeathersHeavenlyVapes Click Here in the search type in tobacco and they have a ton of choices. Prices are excellent too. Since Hubby is starting I'd suggest that you start him on the 36mg liquid. For a beginner the stronger the better.

I Remember when I first started and quickly bought a kit from V2 cigs. Because I was new to the vaping scene, I didn't know any better and wasted a lot of money. First let me tell you that for a heavy smoker just coming off analogs, those batteries aren't going to last long at all. You will find yourself constantly charging. Also you want to get familiar with thethread type of the battery. the ones that look like real cigarettes are usually an 808 thread. But the most popular thread is called a 510 and you will find that most accessories are compatible with a 510 threaded battery. Also you might want to start off with something a little bigger than the analog look alike kits from blu or V2 or the others. The kits will just cost you a bunch of money for a sub standard product and if you are a heavy smoker, the sub par battery life may make you tempted to go back to smoking. I myself have a ego-t mod that uses 18650 batteries, and I use boge or resurrector cartridges from crystal clear vaping. I think you may like that but keep in mind that this set up is a lot bigger than a regular cigarette and doesn't look like one either. Lol!
