Figured i would stop by and say hi. i started vaping yesterday and LOVE IT! ive been a 2 pack of 100's a day smoker for the last decade (wow i feel old) I smoked 1 cigarette yesterday morning and been solely vaping since. I picked up a cheap EGO CE4 with a 1100mah battery, just to try it out. I stopped by my local vape shop and got one heck of an education. found out my tank doesnt have a replaceable coil, so picked up another tank with replaceable coil. While i was there i tried somewhere around 50 different flavors. i couldnt find one with a throat hit i liked. all the ones i tried were 18mg nicotine. so the girl behind the counter helping me let me try one with a 24mg, and that was the ticket. I found that i like their brand pirate booty (butternut rum and vanilla) and key lime pie, both in a 24mg nicotine.

Its nothing impressive. i have a ton of research to do to find a better one. i tried to put up a pic but wouldnt let me.

You need 5 posts and then you can put up a photo. System refreshes at 25 after the hour, so your post count won't actually be counted until then.

Congrats on the quitting. You are lucky to have vape shop help. I had to hunt and peck online to find juice I liked. I also was smoking nearly 2 packs a day and for about 50 years and quit smoking the day I started vaping. Have never looked back!

Enjoy!! :vapor:

Welcome to you! So glad you have made the switch. I also was a 2 pack a day smoker of ultra lights, but for many more years than you. (I really AM old.:)) I came home from the vape shop with a nice ego starter kit, and some 18 mg. juice. It worked, but just barely. I didn't actually crave a cigarette, but I had vague, anxious feelings. I went back and got some 24 mg. and was immediately very comfortable.

I'm still stunned and amazed at how painless it has been to ditch the cigarettes. I recently upgraded to the MVP 2, and would highly recommend it to you as a next step. It's very user friendly, works with a wide variety of tanks, and the battery life is amazing, a couple of days without recharging. You can find it lots of places online for around $40 or so.

Good luck to you, and hope to hear more about your vaping experience.

Welcome to the forums and congrats on ditching the cigs. I was a very heavy smoker for 40 years, and it only took me two days to make the switch, that being the time it took to find something that worked well enough. I guess I really did want to quit smoking, I was having health issues from it and I knew I had to quit. Vaping was a godsend to me! You will find these forums a rich source of information and support. Don't be a stranger :)

Welcome! I am relatively new too though I have been around some very experienced vapers for while and decided to take the plunge and they were very generous in helping to get me started because I am on disability. I have found the peeps on this board to be just as generous with their knowledge and their help. I have been involved in several very specific communities of people in my lifetime (tabletop role players, online role players (think Dungeoens and Dragons and Whitewolf, geeky role players nothing else, lol), cat breeders and cat show exhibitors, and now vapors). I have found this group of people to be the MOST friendly, least concerned about their own egos, and truly interested in helping people kick that nasty habit of smoking.

Congrats on your decision to extend your life through quitting AND to join this amazing group of people.
