I recently got an Aspire Mini nautilus kit and was looking into getting a Kanger sub tank with the eLeaf iStick 50w. Being a beginner to vaping, I wanted something simple, but now I want more clouds. I've seen some critiques of the setup that I want and have only heard great things, but I wanted to see what you guys think of it? Thanks!

People have been buying the subtank mini, and not the original subtank;

and shortly after that, kanger has now started with the Subtank plus, which uses the same rba head as the subtank mini.

So look for the subtank mini or the subtank plus.

when the subtank came out, and then the replacement glass tubes and spare rba heads, I ordered the spare glass tubes and rba heads; actually received them. Then just when I was about the order the subtank, BAM! they put out the subtank plus; meanwhile there were reports about problems with 'peek' insulator or something.

so now i'm stuck with the old spare glass and rba heads; wanting to order the new subtank plus, but still not seeing replacement tubes and rba heads for them.

To get the biggest clouds you need to learn breathing techniques like the ones used for deep water diving.
If you can hold your breath for longer than one minute then over time you will increase your lung capacity and be able to inhale more vapor and then your diaphragm will become stronger allowing you to quickly exhale the vapor.

If you are interested in more clouds, maybe you should pick up a simple cheap rda.
Easier to experiment with.

There have been some issues reported with the 50 w istick. Self firing and I'm not sure what else. Not all are affected, just maybe a small percentage.
I have two of them. I haven't used them as much as I should but so far I haven't had any issues. Though... it's weird. I will have full battery for a long time then it seems like it dies super fast. They last me over two days of chain vaping but I just haven't used them consistently enough to really speak with conviction.

As for clouds... I don't chase clouds. I chase flavor. So my choice is Atlantis and Kanger SubTank Mini w/ .5 subOhm option. I can't help you with the clouds bit. :/

With my iStick 50, it will take days to go from 100 percent to 50 percent, then that last 50 percent will get used up in a day or less. So yeah, that battery level gauge isn't calibrated very well. Or maybe that is how the drop off in voltage works with the iStick batteries.

As for clouds, I find that I can produce bigger clouds with the Atlantis than I can with the Subtank.

that's not weird; that's pretty much how things look with lithium batteries;
also the measurement is on voltage; (you can't directly measure 'deliverable energy contained in battery'); voltage is easy to measure;
4.2 is full, 3.7 is 50%, and 3.2 is empty.
They tend to stay longest around 3.7 then when they start dropping from 3.7 they drop faster and faster.
