Hi, I quit smoking for good March 21,2015. I started using Blu and then went to Halo g6. It has helped me immensely and I don't even think about smoking anymore. I just upgraded to Halo's triton and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it!!! My question is: how do I clean the tanks or can I?? They seem kind of gunky and I want to clean it out but I don't want to break anything. Can anyone advise me on this?

I don't know anything about the Halo products but I did want to welcome you to the forum. I am sure that there will be some that will come along to help you out.

With that said...

I went from blu's to the Halo Triton. Tanks are easy to clean. This is the process that I used.

1. Obviously, remove the tank from the battery.
2. Unscrew the mouthpiece and then unscrew and remove the coil from the tank.
3. Rinse out the tank well in hot/warm water.
4. Rinse out the coil in hot/warm water.
5. Loosen the rubber grommet at the top of the coil. This will allow the top wick (there are two wicks, the top wick is removable, the bottom is not) to be removed. NOTE: Do not remove the wick but rather pull it to one side to expose the center of the wick. You will noticed that this section is discolored and gunky. Rinse this part well (you can rub the wick in between your fingers under running water) and this should restore the wick to almost original.
6. You can now pull the wick back so that it is even on both sides and push the rubber grommet back down.
7. Leave the coil off to the side to dry overnight.

It would be best if you have an extra tank. If you don't then dry out your tank as best as possible. Put a new coil in (or old coil if you have allowed the coil to dry) and then refill the tank.

When I was using the Tritons, the coils would last me a week and then you can tell that the coil needs changing as the vapor production would drop considerably. I would swap out the coil and clean the old coil and let it dry. Cleaning and drying the coil, I would reuse the coil for a second week. Honestly, I don't know if you could clean and reuse the coil more than once since I never gotten that far before I upgraded and stopped using the Triton.

Aw, thank you!! I have been lurking the boards for awhile now and finally decided to say Hi!! Everyone seems so nice and I just love vaping now. Although I do have family that tells me that this is just as bad as smoking :( I don't let them burst my bubble though.

Fortunately for you and us those family members do not have the correct information there's lots of links for people to send you to show them showing vaping is far safer than smoking. Good luck and welcome to ECF
