Your best bet is likely an eGo twist. You can get a couple at vaporbeast for 18.99 each. It is 3.2-4.8 volts, you really don't need more unless you plan on using very high ohm cartos.

I agree. No reason to spend all kinds of $$ when the twist will do most of what you need. If you must have a mod.. perhaps the Vmax.. they are around 80 bucks but after the batteries and charger your looking at $100.00 or so. They hit like a train.

I'll third that motion: even though I haven't gotten my vv yet. Check this blog Vaper's Handbook and scroll down to the first update and video.

Ordered a Twist 1000 mah for $24 Au$ from vapebar.com.
Although, I've heard the vmax is pretty good too.

cheers, :toast:

Before you jump on the eGo Twist bandwagon (I have them and love them!) what are you planning to use on them?

The eGo Twist has a low amp and some of my atty/carto's won't work on them. Some people won't hit that limit in their daily vaping but I personally like mods that can hit all the possibilities.

I still use eGo Twists for out and about. At their price range, I don't really care if I lose or break it.

The Buzz Pro and vmax do have higher amp limits.

If you're trying to quit and not sure what your sweet spot is, I recommend getting a higher AMP limit device on the off chance you need the higher temps on certain atties/cartos. Better to be prepared than have to buy more gear.

A mild vaper can get away with an eGO Twists. Its all my missus uses. Can't get her to use any of the expensive mods (and I have tried). She just doesn't need the high temps, sometimes I find her at lowest setting on the eGo Twist and she's fine.

Edit: Just wanted to add, my vote goes for the Buzz Pro. It has a proven circuitry and the Vmax runs hotter than what it shows.

Nothing wrong in recommending an Ego Twist for someone interested in trying variable voltage vaping. However, there is something to be said for a tube mod that will use replaceble batteries, as opposed to needing to replace the entire Twist when it dies, being that they have a limited lifetime expectancy. In addition, the Twist has a lower amp limit.

Once he has a VV mod, he needs only to replace the rechargeble batteries. Just another way to look at it.

I agree with the eGo Twist being a great starting place for VV. It works with a lot of the equipment out there and doesn't have much of a learning curve. Once I got use to how things worked and got accustomed to dialing in the voltage to get the most out of my different juices (you will be surprised by how some flavors change), I knew it was the method for me. I'm currently using a Provari and it works wonderfully. There is another way to go also though. If it is something you're interested in, you may want to check out Variable Wattage systems. It works similarly to VV, except it maintains a constant heat level instead of voltage. I have a Silver Bullet with a Kick to accomplish this, but there are units that are self contained. Just something to think about in the future. Best of luck to you!

You might consider the new KGO or eGo variable volt. The advantages it has over the Twist are that (a) it has an LED display that lets you adjust voltage in 0.1volt increments, (b) it goes to 6 volts (versus 4.8 for the Twist), (c) the display tells you the charge level of the battery, and (d) you can use it as a pass-through so you can vape while you charge.

HoosierEcig sells the KGO version here (use coupon code 5off for 5% off):

Apollo sells the eGo version and they have a 10% off sale through today (use coupon code "laborday"):

HI Pappy, i figured something was coming right after the twist. Do you know if the KGO has 510 threads and if so, can it be charged with original Joyetech stuff?

Yes and yes and it is also a pass through.

I received mine Saturday and so far it is working awesome.

I have never owned a pass through before and I already love the fact I can use it while I am charging it.

Variable Voltage 1.5 Mod Kit - Smoke Anywhere For Penny's, LLC Store

Young June lava tank. Full kit, two batteries (18650's), charger, all day and night vape. 3-6 volts. Shows your battery life and the ohms on your atty/cart, 3 amps, pulse modulation. $55.99. It's a huge step up from an ego. Why? Because the batteries last twice as long, it's more adjustable, you can check your battery strength and the Ohms. You don't simply toss it out once the battery is shot. Plus it takes two years to kill these two batteries. You can adjust the volts from 3.1 to 3.2 to 3.3 ect. The ego is limited much more limited.

Don't get me wrong. Lots of people love their ego's but then again lots of people spent lots of money on them and now they are gathering dust. The ego's remind me of the 510's when they first came out. Everyone recommended them but most people were not happy with them for long.

Lotsoffish, please post your thoughts on the KGO VV after you've used it a few days. A LOT of us are really interested in it. I started to buy one from HoosierEcig on my last order but I've been on a buying spree lately (bought a Reo and a Baby Bullet, among other things) and need to slow down on my gear acquisitions.
