Hi I'm new from the uk. Have been vaping for a few months but to be honest I've left all the tech stuff to my gadget crazy chap. I'm currently using itaste vv with aspire nautilus and find its fine but running out before end of day. Do I really have to buy a spare battery or can I change settings for it to last longer? I hate big batteries and would really like to keep this one if I can. My chap is trying to convince me I need something resembling a rolling pin!

You can get another vv3 but you might be served better by spending a bit more and going with a smaller mod--ipv mini or sigelei 30w mini would be good choices. They'd offer more battery capacity and provide more power to that nautilus which should be able to handle 20w or so.

So no, you don't need a rolling pin. You just need one of these newer mini devices that fits in your hand.

Welcome Andrea!

The VV3 is pretty low on battery life. Depends on what "form factor" suits you. The VV3 is what I'd call a "stick". For a little more battery life, you could consider a Spinner 2 (it's twice the life of the VV3.) The "box" mod (MVP2/20W and soon to be V3) has 3-5 times the life of the VV3. The iStick has a "regular" and a "mini" size, but the mini isn't much longer-lived than the VV3. "Tube" mods, and mods like the iPV mini (which I have and *LOVE*) require separate batteries (and charger).

You don't mention the setting on which you're running your Nautilus. I find with mine, I do need to push up the power a bit (toward the upper end of the VV3/MVP2 threshold, which is why I now have other mods), and that will certainly drain your battery in short order.

So, considerations for you - could you live with a replaceable battery? Do you mind holding onto something the size of a deck of cards or pack of cigarettes? If you prefer the stick form, you should look closely at the Spinner 2 (or some equivalent). I love the MVP for its battery life, and I can run the Nauti relatively high (10W) and not have to recharge all that often. I have other mods which require the replaceable batteries, so the iPV mini is pretty awesome IMO.

Cheers

Sitting down, facing forward.
Basic rule of vaping...backups for backups or your backups.

Think about it. You thought nothing of carrying around a pack of twenty cigarettes and probably a spare pack as well, just in case. The same is true of lighters or even a pack of matches. The same thing is true of vaping, especially with smaller battery sizes. Heck I carry around a spare 18650 or two and a spare tank for my mods if I'm going out for more than an hour or two, just in case.

Hi, Andrea, Welcome to ECF!

I also like my MVP's, but if you like the Itaste VV, why not just get a second one?

I am surprised nobody has mentioned the eleaf istick. Not as good quality (imho) as the MVP or itaste, but nice and small, and should last all day and then some. Spinner 2 is also not a bad choice, although not quite the features of the innokins.

Greetings Andrea and Welcome to the ECF. If you are really happy with the itaste vv and aspire nautilus, You should always have at least one backup and that way you can have the extra battery to change out during the day and carry a different flavor............................................Enjoy................................

Ok so if I go for a second one (as I really do like it because it fits in a little pouch in my bag) how long will the spare hold a charge if not used? Will it disperse its own energy of a period of time, if so how long? It powers my nautilus at 8wt and I find a nice vape at 3.8. Your all so technical, I really am a novice. Please bare with my ignorance.

I didn't even think an iTasteVV could successfully power a Nautilus..... it must look weird as well?

djsvapour, sure you aren't thinking of the Atlantis?

Yeah, it might look a little weird, kind of like a magic wand? Or maybe it looks really cool, kind of like a magic wand?

Hey, we all started out vaping without knowing much about it, and learned mostly by asking questions, and reading posts!

A healthy battery will hold a charge for a very long time. You certainly won't have any problem especially if you keep switching back and forth between the two batteries, but even if you have one in your pouch for a month it will still act like it was freshly charged.

As others have said, a lithium battery will hold a charge for a long time, as in a year, with no problem at all. After a year it is a good idea to top them off by putting them back onto a charger.

If you like the VV-V3, and both my wife and I use them along with a collection of other stuff, just get another one or two and you're good to go. I'd also suggest another tank of your choice to go with them. I've used a Fogger V4.1 on top of a VV-V3 an it works just fine, as long as it has the right coil setup of course.

Bottom line is whatever works best for you and to heck with what it looks like. Performance and satisfaction are what is really important.

If you did go with something else, the Eleaf iStick, 20 watt model, is a good choice. I use one with a Fogger and my wife uses hers with iClears and we both like them a lot. They're small and last a day quite easily even with fairly heavy use with my Fogger.

Hey there Andrea. Welcome..!

I would highly suggest the iStick as well. It lasts a long time even with chain vaping. But my rule of thumb, i cant just be carrying one vape mod with me. I would be safe with 2 or ill start fidgeting because i did not get my nicotine fix. LOL~

Also best things with the vaporizers that has the usb charge port, carry a power bank with you and you can charge it on the go. The iStick can also be a pass thru device so you can vape on it while its charging.

My honest pick would be the iPV Mini and an 18650 battery.

A lot of people say to go with the iStick or MVP however this great little mod isn't much more and opens you up to more options if you ever wanted them. Not everybody is into Sub-Ohming but this device is capable and with the Kanger Sub Tank and Aspire Atlantis, it's easier then ever and becoming much more popular. And even if you never get into that. It will still work well with normal tanks.

It's more comfortable to hold since its made to fit in your hand and you don't have to throw it away like the MVP or iStick if the battery goes bad since the battery isnt built in. It would cost you more to replace a battery on an iStick then the device even costs.
