Hi All,
I've been a pack a day smoker for almost 30 years. I've quit once or twice but never for longer than a year. I just picked up a Halo G6 and I like it very much. It's been two days and I've only smoked about 5 analogs, so I'm very excited about not stinking. I was happily surprised at not missing the taste of a cigarette too. Now to adjust my nicotine levels and get stocked up on juice.
That's the one thing about the e-cigs I didn't think about; maintaining the juice supply and ordering extra. Unfortunately it's not like I can run to the corner store to get them. I'll catch on/up, and I'm sure I'll have a great experience thanks to the friendly community here. Yup, I've been lurking
On a side note, I saw a thread regarding misinformation on the evening news. I leave my comment here becasue I cannot post in the original thread:
While saddened to see willful ignorance like that, I'm not surprised at all. The goal of the evening news is more about getting viewers than about reporting news. It's a trend I started noticing at about 13 years of age (I'm early 40's now). I remember when orange juice was bad for you, I remeber when eggs were bad for you. I remeber the blizard of 93 and thereafter every teaser for the weather has been along the lines of "will it be Armageddon tomorrow? I'll have the answer at 11". This is standard sensationalism. They really have no vested interest in fact, unless it gets viewers.
Remember the flooding the east coast had a few years back? They put the reporter in a canoe to show how terrible it was in the streets? And then a couple dudes walked past her, ankle deep in the water? The evening news is not above making up a story, regardless of the outcome, or cost.
I recommend that when you do see this, let them know how intolerable this is. Tell them you do not watch their show because of their lack of journalistic integrity as evidenced by this recent e-cig report, but when you saw their obviously damaging and negligent story you felt you needed to let their advertisers know, that since you cannot trust their reporting, you cannot trust those that would support them with advertising. Money is where they live.
Anyway, it's important to be vigilant; e-cigs could be very profitable for trial attorneys as it has been with tobacco, and very profitable for state and federal governments in the form of taxes. It's one of those easy political wins where there is only a faceless e-cig industry made to be a bad guy and the hero politician who protects the constituent's behind the impregnable shield of legislation. (Yeah, I'm a small government guy
)
So thanks again to the great people here on the forum and thanks again to the e-cig manufacturers, I'm very excited to have found both!
