I'm also new to vaping and although I don't have the experience of many people on here I do have a couple different setups to give a newbies opinion.

I first bought a 901-T and loved it. It's lightweight and feels similar to holding a real cigarette...which is what I thought I wanted at first. Don't get me wrong, it's a great setup and I love that I can stick it all in my pocket to take anywhere. It also has great vapor and a great taste. The only thing I found with it that I really didn't like is that it's more difficult to find parts so not much room for experimenting.

I ordered an eGo that just arrived today and so far I am absolutely loving it. I like the heavier weight and having more bulk. Plus, 510 parts are plentiful...BIG bonus!

If you want something that feels more like an actual cigarette that's lightweight and small then go with a 901 or 510....the 510 will give you more options for later on. The worst thing I found about the small ones is that you must have several batteries! They don't last long and take a while to charge....the biggest reason I bought the eGo. I got sick of continually trying to keep batteries on the charger and keeping track of them all.

If you don't feel the need to have something that looks and feels like a real cigarette (and eventually you likely won't) then I recommend one of the eGo types. I got the eGo because it was the cheapest in the lineup...that way I'm not out much if I hated it. But get what you want. It doesn't really matter too much since all parts are interchangeable (from what I understand).

Whether you choose a larger eGo style or a smaller stick type I definitely suggest getting 510. I quickly found out 2 things, one is that you most likely will want to have options, if not now then sometime in the future. The second thing is that the 510 is the most versatile setup available. 510 parts are everywhere! When you do eventually want to try some different things, you will be happy you went with 510, whether it's eGo style or not.

I know it's not much, but there's my thoughts. From one newbie to another! :)

A lot of people will probably tell you an EGO is the way to go, and they are right, its a great PV. But for me, the shape and feel was just not right. I love my 510 Tank system. Its lightweight and slender, which were important to me in finding my favorite PV. Remember, vaping isn't about always having the newest, most popular equipment. Its more (for me) important to find what works for you and what you like the best. So, a 510 tank system is a great PV in my opinion.

I second the vote for an the Ego Twist. A few sites are selling them in kits or you can buy the batteries and charger separate. 510 parts are the most plentiful, the Twist gives a decent compromise of battery life and size, and the ability to vary voltages from standard ego levels all the way to 4.8 volts makes a HUGE difference as compared to the egos, kgos, rivas, etc. out there.

As a newbie myself....i'm very pleased with this kit i got at the plume room and Andrea is super nice. You also get two free bottles of any juice you want. She sent 2 more bottles as a bonus. Riva Tank Starter Kit 1100mah by Riva | The Plume Room

That looks sleek! Although....it does seem like it's more fitting for the ladies. Not exactly sure why, but it just looks a little feminine to me for some reason. Maybe it's the name...LOL! I think it's really pretty much the same setup as an eGo...loks like the same battery on both.

Also, keep in mind that if you get something like a standard ego, you'll always be looking for resistances to match your preference. If you want a stronger vape, then you'll eventually end up getting something more powerful. If you start with the Twists and find you like 3.4 volts you're covered. If you like 4.4 volts, you're covered. If you like 2ohm cartos and find a clearomizer that is 2.8ohms, dial up the Twist a bit and you're covered. Essentially, it is far more powerful and versatile than most similar batteries out there.

Thanks for all the info guys ! I will def look/research in to the ego-c twist*. I did quite some research on the ego-t and am leaning towards that as of now.

Some of the issues I have with my BLU is that the battery ran out way too fast! Also, the cartridges were expensive and some of them were DOA or did not provide a lot of vapor*. They also only lasted me for about a half a day. I guess what I am looking for in my next upgrade is to not experience any of the problems I have with my current BLU.

If I'm not mistaken, the Riva is an unregulated battery. That means it comes off the charger around 4.2 volts and drops throughout it's charge. The Ego puts out around 3.4 volts, but maintains it throughout it's charge. The difference between 3.4 and 4.2 using the same carto is significant, but this is only when the Riva is freshly charged and it won't vape as consistently.

Riva Tank Starter Kit 1100mah by Riva | The Plume Room

This kit has kept my husband and myself smoke free for 2 weeks now. Lots of vapor and throat hit. You can also put bigger tanks on these with available adapters if you choose. It comes with 2 riva-t atommizers. I honestly do not think the variable voltage is all that big of a deal...but again, that's just my opinion as a newbie :)

I started with a Ego-T..... The tanks looked so convenient. Then I got it and had nothing but dry hits, fumbled attempts to adjust the wick, and leaking. Keep in mind there are two components to vaping, power and juice delivery. An ego, riva, or ego twist will all provide power to any 510 cartomizer, tank, clearomizer or atty. The "T" is just Joytech's tank system. I would choose your power source first and then experiment with cartos. If you share what you find appealing about the Ego-T we may be able to make some better performing suggestions.

If you don't care about size and simply want to have something that you can vape all day without changing batteries you might want to consider a big battery mod.

Bolt - 3.7v Mod - Gun Metal

Add the extension for the 18650. with extension, two big batteries and charger. You are looking at Around $70 but you will have a PV that you can vape all day and night without changing the batteries.

Variable Voltage may or may not be a big deal. A vape that keeps you off analogs is the best vape for you. That said, flavor, warmth, throat hit, and vapor production is immensely different over a voltage range. I have cartos that feel like sucking air on my standard ego batts at 3.4 volts and put out clouds at 4.4 volts. THAT SAID, my favorite starter kit was an unregulated 808, similar to the Riva. I upgraded from those to my Twists when I realized I wanted 4.2 voltages all the time, not just with freshly charged batts.

Cignot just sells the batteries. The charger, cartos, and juice would be separate. Their prices are middle of the road, but Vicki is AMAZING! I have yet to have better customer service from any other vendor and would highly recommend them. Vapors Choice has the lowest prices I've seen and sells them as a kit, but they are out of kits right now and I have no experience ordering from them. I have read positive reviews on their service.
