New user refilling a cart

Hey just got my first 510 a few days ago, with it came 5 pre-filled carts. I remember reading somewhere(cant seem to find it again) that it's possible to re-use those carts with a different flavor. I bought Strawberry with it and they came filled with a "tobacco" flavor(gross by the way). I figured today I would try to do this, do I need to somehow clean the used carts before I pour in the strawberry flavor?

One other question as well, I have noticed since I stopped smoking the vaping seems to make my throat sore(kind of like having a soar throat from a cold feeling) is that just the flavor I am using right now?

I can't comment of the sore throat, never had that problem.

But the cart can just be washed out with water. Your faucet will give it a good "power wash" as long as your pre-filled weren't something too strong (coffee). make sure you shake it good to get out all the left over water.

You can wash off the filler and reuse it a couple times, but you should check out the cart filler mods for a better solution.

As far as the sore throat is concerned.. it can be a lot of things.

"Vaping" will dry you out more than smoking did. Drink a lot of water.. (which is good for you anyway).

Many if not most people find that PG based liquids are a bit rougher on the throat than VG liquids.. and some people have an outright allergic reaction to PG. If the problem persists, you might want to consider at least trying some VG liquid.

You don't have to wash out your carts if you don't feel like it, you can mix flavors if you want to. If you do want to clean your filler material, pull it out of the cart, run it under hot water til you're pretty sure it's clean, dry it on a paper towel and stuff it back in the cart.

Ah, easy enough thanks for the replies!

As far as the throat thing goes, I have noticed it almost feels like it's a little difficult to breath for a few minutes after vaping(don't get me wrong here, it's not like I cannot breath or something!), it feels kind of like my throat is closed up or constricted just barely(not noticeable all that much, but I notice a small difference). So maybe I am a little allergic to it, i'll try the vg liquid in my next order thanks for the tip .

One sign of an allergic reaction is your throat closing off. I am not a Dr. and there are some on here, but I am aware of this because I have allergies. I would watch this closely.

Thus far, it seems as if some people are allergic to PG, but I have never read a post where someone was allergic to VG.

Well I just tried the strawberry after rinsing the cart under hot water about a minute and letting it dry out for a few hours. The strawberry flavor does not actually seem to make my throat feel that way at all, so not sure what they put in the tobacco *factory* pre-filled flavors lol.

My kit came with prefiled carts and they had high mg of nicotine...maybe that's it.

I read that people with Diabetes need to stay away from VG.

Not an allergy, but pretty harmful still. Just to let the new vapers know.
