Hi everyone I just found the forum today and have been blown away at the pure volume of information there is around. I've read all of the newbie threads I could find but still have some questions.

I am a true weekend warrior. I smoke about 0 - 3 cigarettes during the weekdays but on Friday/Saturday night, I smoke 10 - 25 cigarettes a night. :D I plan to use e-cigs to reduce this number but not quit them, since I'm young, healthy and enjoy them.

I understand an average cart will give you approximately 5 cigarettes worth of nicotine. Considering my habits, I'm thinking if there is a cart available that would give me about 10 cigarettes worth of vapor, so I can use the same one for a good night out, that would suit my needs ideally. Does such a jumbo cart exist?

Few other points/questions:

I'm interested in getting a good TH.

Would it be better/easier to simply carry an extra cartridge?

What kind of battery would facilitate this binging style?

I'm thinking manual activation, would this allow me to take shorter draws if I activate a few moments before drawing?

Thanks! :)

Good TH is a function of voltage and nic levels of your juice. Manual activation allows for a warmer draw as you can activate it a second or two before you take a draw. Nic level in juice is a highly subjective area. I smoked, for example, 2ppd and I now vape 24mg. So you need to experiment a little with this. An Ego wouldn't be a bad choice, as it would have the battery power for your weekend. Good luck.

To answer ur qns,

Does such a jumbo cart exist? Yes. a cartomizer XL would be that. (or event a tank system)
I'm interested in getting a good TH. (TH would vary from ur juice's nic and composition i.e. the pg/vg ratio. higher nic and pg = more th)
Would it be better/easier to simply carry an extra cartridge? up to ur preferences but i recommend carrying 2 just incase 1 faild u have a backup)
What kind of battery would facilitate this binging style? any 900mah batts and above. eGo style for compact size or larger vv tube mods for full vaping experience.
I'm thinking manual activation, would this allow me to take shorter draws if I activate a few moments before drawing? Manual switch allows u to go for longer draws so this wouldn't be a problem. so Yes.

Welcome to ECF Tweaking. When you have 5 posts, wait about an hour then you can post in other sections Here's the Australian Forum:

Australia - New Zealand Forum

You might want to try out cartomizers (cartos). They hold more so you wouldn't have to carry more of them, if you vape light.
TH is determined most by nic level, but your setup will have an effect on that also.
Average battery life between charges is 'normally' 100mAh = 1 hour of vaping ymmv.
And you are better off with manual, you can control it more, and I do activate a couple of seconds before I draw, and auto batteries can go bad if you overfill, or try to drip (you can drip with them, but not advisable).
You will get more answers soon, and any more questions feel free to ask, we are more than happy to help.

Hello and welcome..
Since the others have answered your questions, I won't repeat. However, don't know where you came up with the idea that a cart is worth 5 cigs? Simply not true,
You would be better served using cartomizers(cart+filler) in one unit. Holds more liquid with less filling and hassle...

Wow thanks for the answers guys. My understanding, which I now think is wrong, is that cartos couldn't be refilled, whereas carts could... Is there a difference in filling procedure for the two? What's the difference?

Also, let me get this straight: dripping is dropping the juice directly onto the atty which provides a shorter but superior vapor session. Is that correct? It sounds like this would be inappropriate when out and about, right? Also, is it possible to drip onto the atty in a carto? Before asking the obvious, I'm going to see if I can find out what a tank is :D

...However, don't know where you came up with the idea that a cart is worth 5 cigs? Simply not true...

On this page, it said the averages are 3 - 5, then again says 5 - 7, which confused me.

I was a weekend smoker too. I ordered joye 510-t. Battery lasts me all night (220mha) while I am out. I would consider quitting analogs, totally. I am only 27 as well, but smoking and E-cig is way healthier. Also, if you were going to chain vape I would stick with a lower level nicotine

Ah awesome! I'll definitely look into that model then. But first, could you tell me more? Did you have to change the cart/cartos? As for quitting analogue's we'll see, I have never even tried an e-cig yet so we'll see how we go!

There is a difference in how you fill it. The cart, or cartridge is separate from the atty, so you are more or less just filling up a tube with batting in it. A carto has the atty inside of it, with filler around that. So no, you would not be able to drip on the atty in a carto, but you can (after the initial fill) add drops to it, so you can keep it from drying out. I only drip on an atty when I am testing juices, and use the carto for my every day vaping.
as far as what they say about a cart averaging 3- 5 or even 5-7 analogs, no way for me. I have gotten maybe the most 1 or 2 before it loses flavor and vapor. ymmv.

An Ego 900 mah battery and a couple of Resurrectors or SmokeTech 1.7 cartomizers should get your through the weekend night. Yes, they can and should be refilled several times.
The hard part is finding the right juice from the right vendor.

I know the 900 mah battery will be sufficient, but maybe pack along a third filled carto, just for good measure. Better to have it and not need it than the other way around. You will find that you tend to vape more often than you smoked, especially at first.

The 1.7 ohm cartos with some 24mg juice will definitely give a decent throat hit.

What's batting?

So, in a nutshell, cartos are disposable whereas you can reuse carts (more times)?

Cartos can last you up to a week if you take good care of them.

On another note I used carts at first and they tasted funny. The juice never tasted the same as when I tried in the store on an atty and then put it in my cart so I went to a tank mod. Now I get loads of flavor and loads of TH (but I have VV provari).

I've now found that a night out for me work with the following (I have an eGo and seem to prefer carts right now):
2 batteries (in case one dies)
2 Atty's (Same as above, call me paranoid)
3 carts
I found a small case for glasses and inlisted my wife for some help in modifications. (Stitching some straps in to hold everything) Works extremely well for me! :toast:

The 510 T is a tank version E cigarette. I carry two tanks with me when I go out and that is sufficient
