I just ordered my first e-cig. I got an E-9 from ............ It came with 5 cartomizers, and I ordered another 5 of a second flavor to go with it. I havent got it in the mail yet due to chinese new year :(. While waiting I ordered a few novelty type flavors of ejuice from dfwvapors. Is there a way to wash or clean out remnants of the flavors in the cartomizers in order to refill them with a different flavor of juice?

Also where is a good place that I can order empty cartomizers (preferably in US) for the e-9? All of the US suppliers that Ive found only seem to sell them prefilled in normal tobacco type flavors. I ordered up some Mt Dew juice and will probably stick mainly to it, not a fan of the tobacco flavors really thats why im going away from analogs lol.

AZSmokeFree.com is the only place I know of

Probably listed as KR808D-2 (incompatible with the more popular KR808D-1)

thank you! I wish I had found this forum before I ordered them. Oh well chock it up to a learning experience I guess. Any input on being able to clean the cartomizers out to change the flavor of fluid in them? Can you just dunk them in some boiling water a few times then let them air dry out before refilling?

I started with an E9 as well. LeCig carries E9 (KR808D-2) cartomizers (prefilled and blanks). Type in the coupon code "INTERNET" for 10% off. AZ Smoke Free carries very good, cheap compatible batteries. I have bought both of the above.

The statement above is true about the KR808D-2 (E9) not being compatible with the KR808D-1. It's because of the threading. I have ordered another kit containing the D-1 so that I can get compatible supplies all over the place.

If you can't return the E9 kit, don't despair. You can still make a transition to a KR808D-1 without wasting a lot of money. LeCig carries adaptors for D-1 carto to D-2 battery and D-2 carto to D-1 battery. This way if you want to go in the D-1 direction, you can use one type of cartomizer on the other type of battery (or vice-versa), using the D-2 batteries until they die.

I use blanks for juice now, but you can refill the pre-filled cartos. Just make sure you're using a "compatible" flavor - For instance, I added a flavored tobacco juice to a regular tobacco prefilled one with pretty good results.

Good luck!

Finally som good news lol So I could go to lecig and order an adapter that would let me use the more popular KR808D-1 cartomizers on my KR808D-2(e-9) batteries that I have already ordered? I dont want to start all over as I ordered a total of 4 of the KR808D-2 batteries (2 for me and 2 for my wife) and dont really want to toss out that investment.

But if the KR808D-1 cartomizers are easier to find I wouldnt feel too bad about dropping a couple of dollars on 2 adapters to get the job done. Then in the future if I need more batteries I can just buy the KR808D-1 batts and phase out the need for adapters.

Are there any advantages to the more common KR808D-1 batteries other then more readily available cartomizers for them?

I haven't been doing this long enough to speak authoritatively on the subject but I have read what seems like a zillion posts on this site that point to the KR808D-1 as the best small cigarette-type PV.

Thanks for all of the help/info . I went ahead and placed an order for 5 blank KR808D-2 cartomizers and another bottle of juice (cherry)for the Mrs. At this point I decided just to order the KR808D-2 stuff since lecig has free shipping anyways its not that big of a deal just to reorder from them. Prices seemed pretty good too, especially with that 10% coupon. Thanks again

Ok, one more tip, so you don't go through what I went through. I learned this here on the site also.

If your battery (new or old) doesn't seem to be working right, sometimes it's just not making contact with the carto. If you look at the battery contact, you'll see that it actually moves a little. Sometimes it can get pushed down into the battery casing. Take pin or paperclip end or eyeglass screwdriver (you get the picture) and gently put it in the battery hole slightly, pulling upward. This solved the problem for me............don't just assume it's dead.

I started with an E9 too.
The cartos at az are higher resistance & don't work well on the E9 (IMO).

I found, over time, that the best ones for the E9 came from the company I bought the unit from.

I don't really use the E9 much anymore, so if there is anything you want to buy off of me...I pretty much have everything for it.

Thanks for that adapter info - that will be useful to people, especially those who payed ripoff prices for rebranded "name" e9s.

I recommend manual batteries - you may or may not have been offered them for E9. Manual batteries are less work, more consistent drag, and probably safer against getting killed by juice drips from a carto. Do your press and release a 1/2-1 second earlier in time than your drag.

Basically E9 is the rebrander favorite 2-piece and most rebranders do not want customers to even think about refilling cartos - they sell it unidentified and know the KR808D-1 stuff won't fit it. Some sell prefilled cartos with harder-to-remove hard caps or even glued on caps to discourage refilling. Some do not provide carto condoms on the ends (those can be used in another refilling method).

KR808D-1 has more support for reasonably priced accessories, blank carto types including the new clearomizers/CE2 reservoir types, and adapters to use the batteries with other models of atomizers and carts. DSE901 attys screw right on it, 510 attys need an adapter, etc.

Vapor4Life offers two different resistances of cartos - I think the Coolcarts are the higher resistnce (3.2 ohm?) and WOW cartos are the lower resistance (around 2.8 ohm?) and run hotter on 3.7v so WOW might be the better of the two for 3.5v E9 (requires the adapter)? And you can get blanks elsewhere in some lower resistances. (but I don't know - I'm a software geek)
