New VAMO V5 battery life terrible, gets hot fast ?????

Hello, I just goat new Vamo V5 in the vape mail today... Already had a V2, but wanted a backup and happy with the v2 for now.... The battery life on the v5 seems significantly shorter, and it feels much hotter while hitting it (especially lung hits as their longer)....

The old one was the black chrome, the new stainless .....

Wondering if anyone can tell me if this is a normal difference between the v2 and v5, or with the stainless version?

Do I need to send it back?

It vapes GREAT, functions as intended, just seems to get HOT (dissipates fast) and short battery life....

I have a V5 but never used any other model. What is the milli-amp and the size of the batt you are using? I have the panasonic hybrid and usually get about 3/4 of a day out of it, but as for getting hot... I have never had the vamo get hot or warm... I wonder if its your battery... If it's a approved battery, you may have a bad unit.

Think it's bad.. Just ran an efest 18350 down to shutoff in about an hour... Pulled the battery, smells hot... Let it cool, stuck it in my V2, shows 3.9 volts remaining, vapes fine, no heat...

What happens if you push and hold either menu button down for a good ten seconds? Does a menu option come up to change modes as does on your V2? Not all V5's are built like that, having the option to switch between RMS and mean mode - but some of them do.

I got a new v5 earlier this month. Yes, it sounds like you might be in "mean" mode. Hold down the left/voltage remaining button for about 15 seconds and you should be able to switch it.

The models of the V5 that can switch are as described. Just keep in mind that the procedure toggles the setting, so if it comes up RMS, then you WERE in Mean.

So when scrolling through settings if you see "MEAN" then you're already in RMS mode, correct?

On my V2, I hold the left button down for what seems like an hour (maybe 5-10 seconds)....whatever it shows on the screen is what you just changed it to, there's no menu, it just changes modes. Mine says NO1 and NO2 for the modes, NO2 being RMS (I hope).

Yes, iirc on the V2 NO2 is RMS.

Holt, you may have one from a different maker, with different displays and menus. Mine, a KSD, is accessed like ElC describes, and when it does finally get there, it's showing you the setting that is has right then, i.e. the mode you are now in. And the mode doesn't show up in the settings menus on mine.
