Hi,

A little background if your interested :) I'm relatively new to vaping, did try a mini e cig a couple of years ago from TW and although I liked the idea, I just couldn't get on with using it as a complete substitute for my drum roll-ups. I stayed on the TW mail list and then saw the tornado tank at the start of feb this year, thought it looked really good, so after a little thought I ordered one and set up a plan to ditch the roll-ups for good. Tank arrived and tried it out a couple of evenings rather than having my traditional cigs and was impressed, battery lasted a long time, I saw lots of vapour so looked promising. So I finished my last packet of tobacco by the end of the first week of feb and switched to the tank full time. I havn't smoked a roll-up since.

First month went smoothly, I was getting the nicotine my brain was telling me I needed and was content, and then as my sense of taste started to grow back I became more and more curious about other flavours other than the TW tobacco bottle I was working though, I've tried a good dozen or so flavours from various suppliers, after realising I didn't like fruit flavours I stuck to tobacco type strains as it I found it more satisfying. More and more however I found that the last month or so I just cant get satisfaction from anything I vape. I bought a load of 5ml bottles of various VG based tobacco flavours from liberty flights and found the winston one hitting the spot, so I promptly ordered a 30ml bottle but I've found that this bottle is tasting more and more bland, in fact it seems nothing like the 5ml one I tried... that one had nice oakey notes to it with kind of a cognac taste wich I loved, but the 30ml is just bland with the odd sugary sweet taste that I get from it. Obviously wondering if I've got a duff bottle and whether the 30ml batch is different from the original I tried so I've ordered 2 5ml winston's from LF again, one PG one VG, waiting for delivery and will update on what I find.

I was also having problems with the tank, frequent burnt tastes, then a period of no taste and then short spells of full flavour, I tried various techniques I've read about like a few dry drags first and that seemed to work for a while but again gone. Also more recently getting problems with atomisers just flooding, it happened again this afternoon, full cartridge of juice, put it into the atomiser, a few minutes later gargling noise from the cig, check the tank and its empty, the whole 1ml or so had gone through. In short I'm getting the nicotine but now I crave flavour, also I can't remember the last time I've had a throat hit, was happily getting them all the time initially but nothing now.

Tried new atomisers, new batteries, including a 1000mah auto battery but still un-satisfied, also as I type this just had another atomiser go completely dead on my, no vape at all, this one is only 2 days old, just emailed TW about it.

Please help me vape gurus, I'm in desperate need of advise. Where do I go from here, should I ditch the tank and use something else? If so what? Thoughts on lack of flavour? Did anyone experience similar issues when they started out? I tried a little mini DSE901 recently also and just didn't get on with it for lack of vapour and again no flavour. I want to keep vaping and I'd like to get the flavour and throat hit back. I mostly vape at my computer so keep thinking about the passthrough type affairs, but would also need something portable for when I'm out and about in the car etc.

Keep looking at the cartomiser type cigs also, thoughts on those?

Sorry that turned into such a long post, I'm just lost and felt I needed to get it all of my chest. Any help or advise would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

Chris.

If you're vaping the same flavor all day and vaping a lot, the taste and TH seem to go down a bit until you have a break from your PV. What kind of juice are you vaping? PG juice has more TH and flavor than VG. You can also up your nic for more TH. I have no experience with the tanks, but I've heard of problems like the ones you have on this forum.

Thanks for your reply. Yeah, I noticed that also... so I used to alternate between RY4 and my standard tobacco flavour, but ran out of RY4 so maybe thats another thing to bear in mind. The juice is 18mg VG Winston from Liberty Flights. Have a PG version on its way so will update with whether that is more flavourful.

I just find it frustrating as I had the flavour I wanted from the 5ml one I tried only a couple of weeks ago (although thinking about it TH was still lacking), that was the same juice!

May try a 24mg juice also see if that helps. My idea initially was to slowly reduce the nicotine strength to try to wean myself off till I got to the point where I just vape 0% from time to time to fill the psychological need, but that end up going out of the window!

Hi! First post here.. with my experience in vaping, i recommend you to slowly lower the nic mg. that's what i did. from 24mg to 18mg to 11mg to 6mg, and i preffered PG(More taste and vapor). i did this so that my body will get used to the lower mg and not want to ask for more. I vape a Regular EGO-Tank Atomizer @ 3ohms with a Home made 5v Passthrough while in front of my computer and a custom made 5v battery tube if im on the go. this "6mg PG + 3ohm + 5v" setup has been very satisfying for me for a long time now, 5months to be exact. the flavor, the TH, the vapor.. perfect for me. its just a recommendation through my experience. goodluck :)

yeah juices can vary, especially ones from China. Most juices around that are only available in 100% PG come from China.

I recommend Boge cartomizers - I use standard resistance or with a fat battery you can use the LR ones (2.5 or 2.0 ohm which give a hot or even hotter hit). I really don't see the attraction in tanks. I like being able to totally switch flavors. I use a plastic or delrin drip tip as a mouthpiece in the carto so I can just take the carto off the battery, pull out the drip tip, add a bit of juice when needed, make sure the threaded end is dry and the air channel clear and continue vaping.

When you first fill them make sure you add 18+ drops into the stuffing, clean it up, then let it lay on different sides to make sure every bit of stuffing gets damp so you don't singe the stuffing (with 70pg/30vg juices and thinner I find 15-20 minutes of laying it on different sides is enough).

And there are a lot more cartomizer styles around to experiment with including jumbo ones and reservoir cartos. Cartos are an extra expense but not that much if you get a weeks use+ out of each.

I've been having a bit of that trouble with my 510 tank. My vg juices seem to get stuck in them (tanks aren't fond of vg), and get that burn taste. The pg juice i tried didn't have the same flavor at all.

Like dormouse said, i tried some cartomizers (i don't think they were boge tho, they were from LF) and my juice has been much better. Back to it's good old flavor. I'm going to save my tanks for some light pg juice i have coming
