Hi All,

Former pack/pack + 1/2 a day smoker (120mms, menthol) for 40 years, decided this week to quit. Bought a $20 E-cig (Nicotek) plus a 3-pk of menthol cartridges for it, at my local smoke shop three days ago and have dropped my actual cig smoking to 6 cigs a day, which has been no strain at all. I'm far more interested in the e-cig, to be honest.

First couple of days with it, I was using the 2 cartridges that actually came with the kit, and I was kind of disappointed because it didn't taste like menthol -- didn't actually taste like anything -- and I got almost no vapor. Then I decided to put one of the new cartridges in place instead, and ... WOW!! Great hit of menthol, like the first few chews on a stick of peppermint gum, and nice vapor. I was off and running!

Did a bunch of research and found this forum, where I've spent the last couple of days hanging out and reading, learning a great deal -- this place is such a terrific resource!

Based on what I've read, I decided to get an Ego-C Twist, and I ordered a kit from MyFreedomSmokes, plus 4 or 5 juices to try. I'm not sure what nicotine level I should have chosen, but I selected a couple of 18s and a couple of 12s and will take it from there. The kit and juices should arrive tomorrow, and I'm excited.

Now a question. With the Nicotek E-cig that I already have, would it be possible to take those 2 "dead" cartridges that came with it, and add juice to them? It's not a necessity, I am just curious.

Thanks to all who have made and are making this forum what it is.

Welcome aboard! You should be very happy with a Twist. As far as the Nicotek cartos, you can certainly fill them up with juice and continue to use them. They can be refilled at least 3 or 4 times, and probably more. It depends on the particular juice. Once flavor and vapor production drops off, it is time to toss them.

Thank you @spaceballsrules -- and a shout out to Cary, NC! Lived in Youngsville, worked Raleigh for about 11 years before coming back home to AZ, fond memories :)

I'll give it a try, then. Would I probably need a syringe to get the juice down into the cartridge, kind of let it carefully drip down the sides and avoid the center hole?

:D

To refill cartos, I just drip the juice into the filler and let gravity do all the work. A carto will usually take 25-35 drops when empty. Once the filling looks "slushy" I give it a good 5-10 minutes to settle before vaping on it.
