Hello all I am a new vaper. I was a pack a day smoker for 20 years and about 2 months ago a friend got me to try a Blu kit. After that huge dissapointment and doing more research I bought TW 510 kit. Now it's been about 2 months just vaping and man what a difference. I will admit that I do smoke a analog here and there and did buy a pack every once in a while when my my batteries died. I picked up a few eGo batteries and now I am never without a fresh battery.

Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

Also when you heat the atty without a cart is the coil supposed to burn red? I ask this because it seems like my 510 does not produce a lot of vapor like I see in videos. I bought the 510 because the Blu was such a disappointment in the vapor production. When I do a dry burn on my 510 I never see the coil heating up is this normal?

Yes I have looked all over this forum and all over the internet and it seems liek the coil should turn red. How about the Blu? none of my atty seem to do that. I cannot believe that I have gotten 2 bunk kits. I have started using cartomizers because they seem consistent even though the life is very short. I do see smoke coming from the atty just not the red hot glow when seeing videos on cleaning them.

Thanks all.

Welcome, Odd! If the atty is getting warm, it's working. Be advised that you can cause it to pop though by doing dry burns! My advice would be to practice your technique... long, slow drags. Trying to puff an ecig the same way you would an analog will get you no where.

Hope you picked up a cone for the eGo batteries as well. It's made to adjust the air flow and warms the vapor nicely! I always leave it off when using cartos though.

hey TWolf,

I did not pick up the cone when I got my eGo. I bought just the battery and recharger. I did not really want to spend $10 on a piece of metal. now that I have tried and really like the eGo, I'll most likely pick up a kit and those come with cones. I thought the cone was just for looks. I did not know they help with the carts. Right now I am using just cartos, I am trying to use the attys that came with the 510 but again they just don't seem to produce any vapor at all. Even the extra ones I bought. I am not talking about very little vapor, just almost none at all.

When I looked at videos about the 510 it seemed that evryone was getting huge amounts of vapor so it was very frustrating that I was not getting anywhere near the vapor production. Luckily I found out about cartos and that changed everything. They put out a ton of vapor consistently.

yeah I learned how to use a vaporizer when I first got my Blu. That think seemed to give me one good "hit" first drag and afte that nothing. I got my technique down I just wished it would give me the results I see that everyone gets. Thanks for welcoming me.

When I do dry burns at 3.7v with a huge 18650 battery I can't get the coil to turn red.
I just sit on the button as long as I want and it never goes above orange.

I think the best thing to use for dry burns is a 3.7v big battery.
I doubt you can even pop an atomizer using 3.7v batteries.

And at 3.7v I truly believe you don't have to worry about pulsing, or popping your atomizer.

If it was me, I'd buy a 3.7v big battery mod just to use it for dry burns.
