I just got my Halo Triton and put some midnight apple in...I vaped the night before last and most of yesterday and then I started getting this burnt taste. I changed batteries and the taste was still there even though I slowed down my drag. I looked at the coil and decided to clean it and there was a faint scorch mark on the wick...is it a lost cause? How do I avoid the scorched wick? I smoked only three analogs since starting and now they taste terrible. I've looked on YouTube and there wasn't anything that directly addressed how to vape the triton. Glad to be on the road to not smelling and tasting like an ashtray.I love the taste of this so much and am really excited about this, although I think psychologically Im having a hard time getting my mind wrapped around not going outside and freezing my .... off to smoke
Hey there - I'm a Triton user. I haven't experienced what I consider a burnt taste yet, but I am careful about how hot the unit is getting while using it. I try to pace my vapes a little bit more if I notice it's starting to feel warm to the touch. The coil inside is obviously much hotter than what you can touch. They do sell replacement coils for about $13 for a set of 5. Plus every tank you buy comes with one, in case you ever do actually burn one.
Be sure to wash your coil and tank every so often, especially if changing flavors. I've heard tales of some people being able to "scratch off" the burnt marks on the wick they've gotten. I haven't tried to do it yet, but please do so, if you see them and can taste it. The tanks and coils are fairly robust, if you're careful with them.
I don't have experience with that liquid, as I use Tribeca, but I know different liquids can have different characteristics as far as heat and potential burning. Good luck and let me know how you get along with it.
