Thank god it finally worked!! Like most smokers I tried vaping a few years ago on a budget with those crappy $20 pens. After a few mouthfuls of juice,,,,some major coughing fits and a few juice stains from leaking in my pocket I gave it up. When I heard the term e-cig I naturally assumed it would draw like a smoke,,,taste like a smoke and give me the feeling of a smoke without the smoke. Boy was I mistaken!! So I forgot about it and threw it all away. A couple months ago a friend posted on FB that she had gone 10 weeks smoke free with a vape. As I was congratulating her I stopped and did the math and had my holy .... moment. That was the moment I refused to put $150.00 a week into the ashtray. Did some research and took the plunge. Finally,,,I got the experience I was looking for with a Vaporesso Swag. Only took 2 days to realize that was too small and the monster was created,,,LOL. I will be definitely be keeping my local vape shops in business now!!

LOL….must be a Canadian thing for you’ve shadowed my experience to the point! And even though I’ve out grown the Swag, it still gets used regularly.

Welcome to ECF
So does mine. Only took 2 days to realize how small it was. Once I started understanding everything my mistake was looking at stuff on AliExpress. Gonna be on a 1st name basis with the postie by the time everything is delivered,,,,;)

It was about a week before I realized the Swag’s limitations. Downhill from there for I now suffer from serious shinyitis as many of us do.

You can save money with vaping vs smoking (at least with the price of Canadian cigarettes), but that doesn’t account for the new device every other week or the half dozen different flavours of juice you buy every time you walk by a vape store. Don’t know what Vancouver is like but here in Toronto I have more vape stores within walking distance than McDonalds.

Not much different here. Granted,,,not as bad as it was a few years ago but still more than enough to choose from.

Saving money,,,HAHA!! I went from nothing a month ago and by the end of the year I'll have 4 mods,,,4 sub ohm tanks,,,2 RTA's and 3 drippers. All that is still less than I would spend in a month on cancer sticks!!

Just waiting on 9 deliveries from AliExpress.com,,,,.

And waiting, and waiting, and waiting... I hope I'm not the one to have to tell you that Canada Post, being a month behind with international deliveries, has now asked its foreign partners to stop sending mail.

I'm very glad to hear you've joined us. Shinyitis clearly has you in its grip, as it does so many of us. I'm afraid the cure is worse than the disease. The only solution I've ever heard of is giving up control of your bank account and all credit cards. Most of us refuse to do so and, instead, suffer(?) through the pangs of repeated vaping equipment acquisition.

A word on AliExpress: it can be a great source for some things, but it's not the place to buy batteries. Neither are Amazon and Ebay. The chances of winding up with a counterfeit, and possibly very dangerous, battery are much too high. Some of the best places to buy batteries are listed on this chart by Mooch, along with recommendations for which batteries to get. If you prefer to avoid international shipping, Dashvapes has a good reputation.

If you'd like to learn more about my pet topic, 18650 batteries, Baditude's blog is a great place to start.

Hi @Ubique and welcome to ECF from another Canuck :)

I have to say @Hawise nailed it above. I ordered a couple of things online a couple of weeks ago that should have been here by now and I now doubt I'll see either package until late December if I'm lucky. IMO, if you want something within a month or two, buy it locally, wait things out, or pay the premium for shipping other than Canada Post.
