Hi all first post,
Need some advice, been long wanting to get a e-cig however where I live, Singapore it is not easy to get one as it is banned. It is possible but troublesome, so I want to make sure the first e-cig i get is worth the trouble.
Have been considering the Joye 510 as research from hopping around this forums for days highly recommend it.
I'm currently a 1pack a day smoker, smoking next chills and marlboro ice blasts, would prefer something that gives similar throat hits, is noob-friendly and easy to refill as well as durable. Battery isnt a problem as long as it comes with one of those portable charger-cases.
Aesthetics wise, would like something that is around the length of an analog or something slightly longer, comes in black with blue LED. I know Blu has something that looks like it,but reviews on it haven't been good.
Any advice peeps?

Welcome to ecf, there are some videos for newbies in the 'stickies' above that may help you
opinions vary greatly around here but the 510 is a good place to start, was for me
now moved up to the ego size w/ ego mega atty's & carts for more batt life & stronger hits
hope someone will help you find a vendor who will ship there, good luck

Get a Volcano Magma
Order it a la cart
get one pack of cartomizers
two atty's
two batteries
the pcc
and the usb charger
you may want to try a drip tip and get at least one pack of carts ..flavored or not your choice you can rip out the cart and mod it for refill purposes later

All magma's are black and I think they have some blue led manuals right now

Terry,
I'm still a bit of a newbie myself. The atomizer is the heating element that's separate from the cartridge. The nic and flavor are in the cartridges and atomizer and battery are separate pieces that come together to form the ecig. A cartomizer is when the atomizer and the cartridge/flavor are one piece and the battery is a separate piece that come together.

I would suggest you consider Vapor4Life, I've been using it for a week and its great and they have a huge selection. I've tried the Blu and Greensmoke and both were sorely disappointing. The Blu has a great initial taste, but both of them were really expensive compared to most of the other products. I havent used the juice yet, i've only ordered prefilled carts thus far. I am expecting a juice shipment this week so im hoping it works just as well.

Good luck on the vaping experience. I'm enjoying it now, but i didnt like it when I purchased inferior products. ECF is a great tool for research, but it does get overwhelming.

Welcome Terry. I've only been vaping for about a month myself, but I can tell you as a new vaper I can definitely recommend the 510 model. What I've read says that it has a stronger throat hit and more vapor production than most other kits (not inclusive of custom mods), which I really like. It is on the cooler side though. Definitely research vendors, but I would very strongly recommend that you try your best to order from one of the approved suppliers listed at the 'Forum Suppliers' link above, because there are a lot of untrustworthy startups out there. I ordered from Cignot, but I'm not sure how their international shipping would be. Also, since you are a menthol lover like me, you should realize that most of the e-liquids out there are more mint than menthol. I have yet to find a real good menthol. I would recommend ordering several 5oz bottles of liquid in a variety of flavors, just to see what you really like. I got a 'waffles' flavor mostly because it was humorous, but its actually amazingly delicious! I ordered my liquids separately from Vapure, and I've been pretty happy. I'm ordering some more liquid from iVape today (I've heard their Sweet Caroline and Cappuccino Cream are fantastic). Two last things, when you order your 510 (or kr808, or whatever you decide on), don't spend more than $100 on a kit (or you're probably getting ripped off) and order at least a pair of atomizers AND a pair of cartomizers. That way, you can drip, cart, and cartomize, and decide what works best for you. I switch back between cartomizers and dripping (i.e. dripping two or three drops directly onto an atomizer with an empty cart) at this point. There is a lot of info here and elsewhere, and my own post is rediculuously long-winded, but don't give up! Keep reading, keep researching, and keep vaping!

Really grateful for the effort given and the info you've shared, I guess I will get a 510 and experiment with all the methods and juices.

Anyway there are different brands of 510 as well right? Is there a difference or isit just a branding?

Hopefully vaping doesn't take too much time and effort to maintain, if not I might go back to analogs for convenience sake lol.

yea greensmoke was the first brand I saw and I thought they were pretty good until I did some research, sigh marketing

I think the initial cost is a bit of an investment... getting all the supplies and replacements you should keep on hand and all... but eventually your investment will pay off and end up costing less int he long run than analogs will. Although come to think of it... this is assuming there aren't taxes/ fees/ etc for importing the stuff you want to singapore. Might take a bit longer but believe me, its worth it.
I have an eGo 510 and i really love it. There isn't an led on it (my previous e-cig had one and i did like that) but it makes up in performance for the few things it lacks.

Hi Terry,

I hope you will post back your experience whichever way you decide to go. We actually smoke the same brands.

For what its worth, it feels to me like Next Chill is not purely menthol. I'm sure they are adding some sort of phenol-based chemical.

I'm not holding high hopes of getting that same numbing chill deep in my lungs since most other menthol cigarettes don't even give that same intense feeling.

The Marlboro offering is the same thing just re-branded and more expensive. Both of them come from Philip Morris.

Anyway since we smoke the same brands and are probably looking for a very similar vaping experience I'll let you know if I find anything that really does it for me.

@Terry amd leixik: I too used to smoke next chill. I said used to because I've been vaping full time now. Honestly, vaping menthol gives me a very similar throat hit to next chill. In fact, the throat hit from vaping might probably be better. Give it a try man. There's always tons of menthol and minty flavors to try. The menthol is my regular vape now.

@leixik: PM me if you need info about e-cigs and I'll be glad to revert. When I first started, it was the members who provided me with all the info I needed, and its only my duty to pay it forward. Anyway, its really not that hard to get these stuff in sg... just need some lobangs if you know wad I mean... anyway nice to meet yet another ex-next chill-smoker.

I hate to be a lame guy on the public record here but I actually don't know what lobangs means :(

I have arranged to pick up an eGo friday morning bright and early when I arrive in the Philippines. I will definitely be sending some PM after giving it a spin! :D
I'm getting hooked up by a stranger for about S$60/US$46 with NO shipping charge. Im going to promote this guy like hell if it works out.

Thanks man!

@momojojo lol methol vape will affect bed performance anot, later there will be alot of sad girls after I start vaping methol JKJK

I never really like the taste of analogs anyway, just that can't quit the habit and methol and iceblast are kinda chilling at times, and in sg you don't really have much choice, methol methol lights, reds, thats about it.

I've ordered both an eGo and 510, and shipping fees is indeed really a killer. European currency is rising non stop for some reason.Hope its worth the effort

@leixik Man that sounds like a good deal, except that must pick up in philipines ah, not very convenient.

And you accuse me of pushing the eGo battery (which the majority of people here agree with)! Do you work for Volcano? Do you honestly want this new user to have to go through all the hassles that will be involved if he buys a Volcano kit? The batteries don't last long, the PCC won't last long, and the prices are too high for the cheap quality.

I've been waiting for their customer service to respond to three of my emails in the last month regarding the two defective passthroughs I sent back (and still haven't received the replacements). They sent me one replacement passthrough for one of the three defective passthroughs that I mailed back a month ago. I wasted $200 on Volcano products. The batteries in my Volcano kit lasted about 10 days when the battery life started lasting only for about 10 minutes before needing to be recharged. It was all junk!

Why should other people go through the same thing I did? If you're going to recommend products to a new user, why not recommend the better products that will last much longer, are cheaper, and that the majority of ECF users are buying and love?
