Hey everyone, just picked up a disposable today while i wait on my starter kit from smokelessimage.com i picked up the starter with 2 batteries and 5 cartos and a bottle of flavor.

Is there anything i have to look out for after switching from smoking cigs for 12 years? or it is as easy of a switch as it already seems to be with these disposables?

I'm excited to get my starter pack in and be able to smoke inside.>.> haha

Congrats on the switch! It should be easier once you get your kit.. Before long you'll be a veteran vaper. This is a progressive experience is all I can say. Been over 3 years I quit cigs and never missed them one bit! Good success!

Thanks! is it easy to just drop smokes all together, or is there typically an adjustment process where most people smoke/vape half and half?

I found it pretty easy but it difffers with each person. I found when I had the urge to smoke i would just chain vape a few minutes until the feeling left nad all was well. It takes a week or so to get use to vaping and not smoking. Dont feel defeated if you have a smoke. After all you most likely have smoked awhile and vaping is new. Before long it will seem as common to you as cigs did and you wont have a desire for them. It really is pretty easy.. But just know there will be times when you switch that you will feel like a cig.. Just take it slow and you'll see you can switch without problems// when you see all the benefits you will find you are released from the ulgy smelly habit of cig smoke..

Find the flavor you like best. This can take some experimentation and time. But hang in there. You will find you favorites..

Im sure a lot of people will chime in here to help you!

BEWARE these are things to look for after smoking for 12 years IMPORTANT
Clean smelling cloths, hands and body
Fresh breath
Increased lung capasity
ha ha welocme to ECF see you around

Looking forward to all of the above!!! Playing video games and not having to go outside to get a fix is the best thing so far i think!

Anyone have any suggestions on flavors?

Welcome to the ECF,
Typically you'll find the swap will be easy, one thing to keep in mind that vaping is not like smoking for nic delivery. Analogs deliver nic. faster then injecting it in to the blood stream due to the particle size and density so the relief is instant, with e-cigs it takes about 30 seconds to get in to your system so you have to adjust to that. You may have the urge until your body adjusts but if you bare with it that will subside within that time frame.
As you step down the Nic. level expect the usual reaction from quitting smoking....all the same effects happen just at a much slower and tolerable pace...but at least no ill effects like the patch (lord help me, been there done that...the nightmares were horrible). Its much easier you'll find and truthfully enjoyable. Other then that just stick with it, people here at the ECF will help if you ever just need that bump in confidence. I know you can kick the ash to the curb and do it, again welcome and glad your here.

As for flavors if you like tobacco then may want to check out the RYW4 from Madd Catt's vapor...so far one of the best I've had the pleasure to try.

ME myself I quit cold turkey rather than procrastinate but some people are different. If I were you I'd grab the bull by the horns and go with it. Its only hard for the first week or so if that even. The more the urge, the more you vape. I started off woth a strong nic level. To me that was the only way I could get over cigs. You have tons of supporting members here as well if you have any questions or concerns good luck

Oh yeah welcome to ECF and congratulations

Welcome brotha, welcome.

Well you now have another metroplex buddy to help you out. I live in Garland in North Dallas. Like most everyone, I picked up the ecig and immediately put the smokes down. Gone from 20mg of nic to 12mg since. Been working on my mom gave her my whole eGo starter kit but she is fighting me on it, tough old bat. Been off analogs for 4 months now, tried to take a drag of my moms smoke, just for ....s and giggles, got about half of it inhaled and started trying to hack up my pancreas. The taste made me wonder how peer pressure was ever enough to get me acclimate myself to that poison. I know that right now if you gathered up all my gear and chucked it in the lake I still wouldn't smoke analogs because the memory of that horribly vile taste.

Welcome to the new world of vaping!! There is a lot of information out there and a good place to go is Youtube. Pbusardo, Grimmgreen and Igetcha69 do a lot of great reviews. If you do your study on the subject, you will know much much more in just a few months.

A second vote for Grimmgreen... great reviews. I started with an ego-C and still have because I'm researching all options. He seems quite legit and gives thorough reviews. Watch his vids and learn.. I am.

I started with my smokeless image volts 5 cartos and a bottle of juice 4 months ago. I quit cigarettes almost immediately (I was a 40 year 2-3 pad smoker). My wife took about a week of 2-3 cigs a day. The cravings did not disappear for a few weeks, but I was able to vape thru them. The biggest hurdle will be finding the best juice and adjusting to your changing tastes and nicotine levels.

Agreed! I started to quickly notice how often i would have to take a break from important stuff (read: video games) to go outside and smoke. Not anymore. Although some say it can be helpful to keep your old smoking routine when you are trying to switch to e-cigs (such as going outside to vape if you would normally do so to smoke) so maybe give that a try if you feel like it, but above all else enjoy your new toy!

I'm not sure if anyone said this, but be sure to drink LOTS of water -- cant stress that enough, vaping dehydrates you and its easy to get headaches etc. I got lots of headaches when i made the switch and some were from having too little nicotine, too much nicotine, not enough water, or just plain recovering from the nasty stuff i used to put into my body with cigs. its easy to eliminate one of those variables -- drink water!

Have fun :)

I still kinda craved analogs while on the disposables, but once I got my setup, I never craved tobacco again. I credit the high nic juices I started with, and the lucky accident of picking a juice flavor I liked right off the bat (simple fruit flavors generally don't need to age before they're usable) and the fact that I could vape just about anytime.

Learning the proper way to vape was a big help, too. It's not exactly like taking a drag off a cigarette.

A regular cigarette I had about 2 weeks ago, an ultra light no less, made me so nauseous I had to go to bed! Never again!

Welcome, and best of luck!
