New Vaper :)

Just started vaping a couple of months ago and I love it. I want to learn how to do my own rebuildables and such. I started with an ego c-twist with a 6ml DCT tank. Then I got my K100 and got a dual coil smok RDA with it but I'm not a big fan of dripping so I got a kanger pro-tank 2 and an AGA-T2 (which I'm learning slowly about).

If you guys have any tips for me about anything related to vaping such as a tank I should try or whatever, please let me know. Thanks :)

If you like your pro-tank II, I'll recommend the G50 tank clearomizer. It is very similar to the pro-tank and can hold 5.0 ml. The difference between the G50 and the kanger is that you can put a drip tip on the G50.

I want to get into rebuildable atomizers but I'm just taking everything one step at a time right now. Happy vaping!

Anyhow. Welcome to ECF!

Before recommending anything... I just wanna make sure that you did your homeworks before diving head first into RBA's and mechs. This can be a little dangerous if you dont know exactly what you are doing:

Do you know what battery to use?... do you own and know how to work a multimeter?... do you know what is the amp limit of your battery and why it's important to know about it?... do you know how Ohm's law relates to vaping in general and battery amperage in particular?

thanks nuhrayoh! are you using the G50 tank and if so how are you liking it?

i want to get into those as well but since i know nothing, i'll be here learning what i can haha. Happy vaping to you as well!

Thank you Steam Turbine (sick picture btw)

I did no homework because I dont know where to start :( i mean i can watch youtube videos but that can only get me so far.

To answer your questions: no to everything. dont worry as i have not tried to rebuild anything myself, i've been buying them premade and trying to reverse engineer it if you will (not taking it apart, just looking at it closely and yeah).

Is there anywhere I can go in the forums to help me learn all that? maybe a noob's guide or something of the sort?

You are very welcome.

Of course there is some info on this forum! You are on the best ecig forum in the universe.

Baditude blog is a good place to start.

The most important thing, especially with mechanicals like your k100 and rba's is battery safety. Never use unprotected li-ions batteries... IMR batteries and AW IMR especially are the recommended batteries to use with them.

Having a multimeter is a must when dealing with rba's, baditude's blog have a section that shows you how to use one... They are pretty cheap.

The Ohm's Law calculator is your friend. All you need to know is the maximum discharge rate of your batteries (mesured in amps or A) and make sure that you stay under it. Punch in the resistance of your atomizer in the resistance field then enter 3.7 or 4 (I usually use 4 for some reason we can discuss later) in the voltage field and voila! Press on calculate and look at the current field... If it is under the amp limit of your battery you are good.

But as a rule of thumb... Aim for above 1 ohm for your first coils... Make sure there is no resistance drop, check once in a while and youll master it soon enough.

Yes, I am currently using the G50. It is very similar to the kanger protank II like I said earlier. I believe that their bottom coils are similar if not the same so if you need to replace coils, you don't have to buy different products. I am very pleased with my G50 clearomizer. It worked well straight out of the box. I did have a little bit of a leaking issue, but I cleaned it once and it's been firing and hitting just fine. I am also fairly new and looking for new products to try.

That sounds great, that will definitely be in my "next to try" list.

RSST and Genesis-style atty's are the same right? >< sorry haha. what type of juices can't i use with it?

The RSST is a genesis style atomizer... But genesis style atomizers are not RSST... In the same way that a Ford Escort is a car but a car is not a Ford Escort.

The RSST uses a plastic tank section as opposed to a glass tank section (fused quartz or pyrex). Some e-liquids are known to be "corrosive" and eat thru plastic tanks... Cinnamon and citrus juices in particular... some strawberry as well among other things. Glass tanks are immune to that, the aga t's for example will not suffer from e-liquid "corrosion".

Thank you so much Steam Turbine. You have helped me greatly sir! and yes ECF is the best place for me to be!

I forgot to mention something...

When looking for the max discharge rate of your battery... You will notice some suppliers or manufacturers will say something like:

Max. continuous discharge rate : 8A
or
Max. continuous discharge rate : 8C

A and C have different meanings. 8A means that you can draw 8 amps from your battery.... Simply use the ohms law calculator find the amps of your coil in the "current" field and voila... that number is the amps that you are drawing from your battery.

8C is the C rating of your battery. To find the amps that you can draw from your battery using the C rating... you need to multiply the C rating of the battery by the "ah (amp hours)"of the said battery.

A 1100 mah (milliamp amp hours) battery = 1.1 ah (amp hour) (the metric system is so much simpler and superior than that crap you use in the states :p) Basically divide the mAh by 1000 to get the Ah.

So... 8C x 1.1A = 8.8 amps that you can safely draw from your battery.

Hope that make sense!
