Hello all,

Wasn't even trying to quit, just wanted to stop having to get up all the time to go outside to smoke. A friend of mine used one for long car trips and I thought, well, maybe that'll do it. So I went down to the vape store and I thought I'll get one, it'll be a novelty plus maybe I can watch a whole movie without having to run outside. I didn't really think it would be very effective and I sort of doubted whether I could get through a whole movie without a smoke.

Six weeks later I'm tossing my smokes in the garbage and I don't even care. It wasn't even hard. I just didn't care about them anymore.

I am over the moon! It's literally a miracle. I can smell again and I still cough but it is just a light throat cough now, not the deep lung-ripping painful cough I used to have. I feel great. The most amazing surprise ever.

Food tastes amazing! Everything is amazing! I feel 20 years younger! The whole world is fresh again!

I wish it was this easy for everyone. I was told by people I know that these didn't really work for quitting, that's why I had such low expectations. It was so easy! How come nobody is telling anyone that for some people, you might be able to quit like snapping your fingers? Every smoker should try this!

Welcome and congratulations. If more good information was being to given the public, more would do what you did. I did want to quit - I was tired of bronchitis a couple of times a year, hacking my brains out, and slowly dying. A nurse friend suggested vaping, so I decided to give it a try. It was very easy for me too and I know that isn't the case for everyone. Once I picked up the mod, I tried an analog a couple of times and ended up throwing the pack away. Besides the incredibly improved health, I now know just how terrible I smelled. Yuck! The smell of cigarette smoking drives me crazy now.

Yeah I did that too! One last smoke a few days after I stopped just to make sure I didn't want them anymore, and it tasted like it came out of a car muffler. I had to force myself to finish it. I wanted to really get disgusted and I did.

I know it isn't this easy for everyone but if it's this easy for anyone, the government should be promoting this, not keeping it secret.

between here and there
Welcome to ecf.

Yeah, they should be screaming from the roof tops, but they like their tax dollars too much from cigarettes. At least, with the new guy at the FDA we having a glimmer of hope.

Lots of members here are also accidental quitters. LOL. I, like you, quit immediately. Smoked my last cig almost 7 years ago and could not be happier or healthier. I was so ready to give them up. Tried everything on the market they advertized as to help us to quit. Only ecigs worked. The rest are garbage.

Good luck and happy vaping.

:)

I love that story... It's great. I really WANTED to quit this time, I think that worked in your favor. I've been smoking so long, I forgot about day(s) without coughing, having energy, and tasting food! These were also miraculous occurrences along my vaping journey.

The last time I tried to smoke a cigarette (I was feeling petulant and upset) I could not take more than 2 drags, and tossed it. One of the very few cigarettes I have ever thrown away that wasn't smoked down to the filter :) I think that moment comes for every successful vaper. Now when I get upset, I remember that "last" cig, and how gross it was.

Also, I was pretty convinced that I'd never find the smell of smoke noxious, but now I can walk by people and tell if they'd smoked. I'm sort of.... mortified that I used to smell like that. It's getting grosser as time passes.

Welcome to ECF and a huge congrats!

Welcome to the forum and congrats on getting off stinkies. After smoking 48 years I was more than ready to quit but skeptical. Nothing had worked in the past! Talk to a few ppl I knew who'd quit via vaping and did a bunch of research. Had my last cig before walking into a local vape shop on a mission 2pm June 16th.

I'm 2 weeks in and had cigarette dreams last night! I stopped wheezing and feel soooo much better. I switched from Vuse to V2 (finally arrived) and %1.8 juice. The fancier kits are probably in the future. This is a great forum and Welcome.... I love reading about other people succeeding at this.

Welcome and glad you joined.
Wise move, now if we can only get the good news to my son-in-law and daughter. Some folks just will never get it.
Advantages:
Health
Taste
Cost
Cleanliness
No stink, self & clothes
Hobby
Fun
Stealthy
Less negative social stigma
SCALEABILITY: near complete control of all the above

I did hear that it helps with lung problems for smokers. But I didn't hear about things like smell and taste and I got the wrong information about some important things, like cost.

I used to buy tobacco by the large canister and roll cigarettes with a machine. That was about a hundred dollars a month (I smoked a lot, about 2 large cans a month). Buying tailor-mades by the carton would have run me about $200 a month and buying single packs around $300

I get 500mL juice for a hundred bucks and that lasts me three months and I am not even trying to conserve it, I just vape without even worrying about that at all. That's just how it is, and all these people saying it's more expensive live on some other planet or something. I have no idea what they are talking about, but they cost me a lot of money because I would've tried this much earlier if there was not so much disinformation on costs.

Lol... sounds very similar to my experience three years ago. I bought a cigalike three years ago.. mainly for the novelty and the idea of being able to vape inside and smoke outside. I ended up cutting down considerably.. but it still wasn't enough. Bought some EGO batteries a few months later, got down to 3/day. bought an AGA-T + Vamo, and ended up totally quitting. I tell everyone I accidentally quit through vaping.

Welcome to the forums. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to ask away. The worst question is the one not asked. :)
