Just wanted to say a quick hello to everyone...

Have been a Marlboro Reds smoker for almost 15 years, and just on a lark thought I would try out an e-cig.
Never have been the biggest smoker, really only about 10-12 a day but seems like vaping has to be healthier than analog smoking.

Looked into a few different brands, E-Cig, Blu, Green Smoke, a couple I cant remember the names of off hand, and then finally somehow came to the Halo website.

I'll admit its probably dumb but the combination of made in the USA, a nice looking website, cool favor names and starter kits in sort of the mid-priced range, made me think it would be a good place to start.

Got my kit just today, one auto battery, one manual, some preloaded carto's with the torque flavor, a set of 5 blanks, and their tobacco variety e-juice sampler all in 18mg nic strength.

Before ordering and while waiting for my stuff, I had looked at some reviews of ecigs both halo and other to try to know what to expect, but I still really didn't know if it was for me, after about 12 hours now I gotta say I'm glad to have given it a shot.

Maybe silly, but here in Minnesota its almost painful to be an outdoor only smoker about 50% of the year, thanks to harsh winds and chilly temps... now I can kick back and vape without getting frostbite and making the house stink.

I really love smoking analogs, but this really seems very satisfying as well, and hey I happen to think its gotta be better health wise than inhaling actual smoke.

Anyway I guess I could ramble on all night but just wanted to say I'm glad to be smoking a lot less analogs and more on my e-cigs and I'm very pleased with my Halo gear and several of their flavors: Torque56, Captain Jack, Smooth8 and Prime15. I'm sure eventually I'll get curious and try other brands but I think I'm off to a great start.

I really didnt expect to like the feel and/or flavor of e-cigs at all, and I couldn't of been more wrong.

Hope everyone else has as much luck and success!

From the East Side of Saint Paul : )

Love your sig, I'm a numbers person and I should try to keep track of my stats too.

Did have 3 analogs today (1 since I've been vaping) mostly to test how it felt... but that's still about 7 less analogs so far today alone.

Granted I'm probably way over vaping and getting tons more nicotine but, baby steps! lol.

Welcome hall0559. After you get 5 posts in new members, you can post in other areas You'll get plenty of good advice and tips here. I'll start by giving a couple of links you might want to check out.

The second one will give you an idea of all the wonderful flavors you can try, and some good vendors to get them from. Everyone has different tastes, and what may sound good, you may not like at all vaping. It's hard to find the perfect flavor, most are hit or miss. Best to get sampler packs, that way you don't get a lot of a flavor you may not like.

Good Luck

Three days vaping and 48 hours without an analog... a little worried that i'm getting too much nicotine but not having any OD symptoms, I do plan to step down a bit on the mg/ml but trying to take my time so I don't fall back to analogs.

First day after I had a heck of a sore throat, but my family has actually been sick with colds so that could of been something I picked up at thanksgiving, and it was gone after the second day.

Third day... feeling pretty good, again still probably doing too much, feeling like im going thru a carto pretty fast, but I know I am under filling being worried about overfilling and getting drippage or something.

Halo had a thanksgiving sale so I ordered another set of batteries, more juice, and more blank cartos.

Not that money is a big deal but just need to stay off analogs for about a month and it'll pay itself off... then hopefully, just cuz I like the numbers I can start to figure my savings. But I'll probably blow all that on ordering more juices to try new flavors, hehe.

The analog is dead.
Long Live the Vapor!

Keep your cartos topped off with juice, hall0559. The filling will look "slushy" when they are properly filled. Doing this will keep your carto from burning the filler which pretty much ruins your carto (the burnt taste will never go away 100%).

Good luck, and vape away! :)

There are numerous videos on cleaning cartos, and a lot of threads here if you do a search.
I usually put a coffee cup of water in the micro for 2 min, drop it in till it cools, then blow it out on a paper towel to get as much water out as I can, let sit for a few hours, or a couple days, so it's completely dry, and I can get a few more days out of it. There are better ways to do it, but that's a simple and quick way. If it's a metal one you can boil; it, but I haven't tried yet. I did see a good video on how to do it, but can't remember where, but you can google how to clean a cartomizer and find it.
