Hi everyone. I am glad to have found this forum!

I've been curious about e-cigarettes for a while now, and am interested in giving them a try. But I am very selective about the quality of things I buy; I prefer to get the right thing the first time. I also prefer not to buy Chinese products, because I've had more bad experiences with China-made products than good; everything from bicycles to toasters to hardware--many of the Chinese products I've gotten have been very disappointing.

Are there any e-cigarettes (or e-pipes--they look a lot like the real thing, at least in pictures) made outside China? I'm also interested in non-Chinese "smoke juice", or whatever the correct term is, in both nicotine-free and regular varieties, with the real ingredients clearly labelled. And to top it off, I prefer to buy non-animal-tested products.

I'm not even sure what I'm looking for exists yet, but I'm glad to get to join this community anyway. What I'm mainly looking for is a healthier diversion than smoking that meets my prior concerns. I am more than a little skeptical of the idea that a "safe cigarette" is a complete impossibility, and wonder if the FDA really has our best interests at heart when they say or imply that the idea is impossible. I have researched the hundreds of chemicals added to cigarettes, the products of tobacco combustion, etc., like I'm sure a lot of people here have, and there has to be a better way.

It seems everthing to do wit e-cigs is made in China. Afterall they invented them. For the price they sell the stuff for, its impossible to make it here. So as far as I know there are no North American Manufacutres.

The quality of their product is decent. But its good to keep spares of everthing on hand. Considering how cheap everything is from China, thats not a problem. If you think of the parts of the e-cig as consumable, and not meant to last forever, the quality is not as important.

As for e-juice. I wouldn't nessicarly believe claims of "American Made" e-juice. Pure nicotine to make e-juice is hard to get in the US. You need a licence to buy it, also it can only be sold to labs ect. China on the other hand sells nicotine to anyone for cheap. I strongly suspect "American Made" e-juice has China nicotine.

As for the health claims, right we don't know. But we did know for 100% sure that smoking analog cigs was going to kill us. Anything short of a sure thing in this case is an improvement, even the unknown. You would be stupid to start e-cigs if you are not a smoker tho.

I have yet to see a small sized e-cig (from actual ciggarette size up to oh pen style sized perhaps?) that is not made in china.

To my knowledge thus far all the carts and attomizer's are made in china. cartomizers I am unsure of.

There are MANY battery housing or MOD's available that are made in the US and other countries. We are just now starting to see bigger battery mods come out of china also. (just this week I saw one)

There are companies outside of china that make juice, the DIY type of unflavored comes to mind with several makers having thier own stuff. Tottaly wicked's platinum ice brand comes to mind, and it is UK. I am sure there are other companies also if you are h*ll bent on buying stuff not from china.

As far as tobacco flavors go, I have a feeling most come from china, but there may be some that are not. But as to all the other flavors, tons of places make them with Lorans, or many other brands of food flavorings used.

I doubt you can find an entire product that has been 100% made not from china however as I mentioned above, but if such is your goal good luck with it. :)

Actually, there is a modders forum here where I am sure you could find a laser pointer mod or box type mod if you don't wish to

I can see your concerns. I don't like to buy anything that is imported.

In the case of e-cigs we don't have any choice at this time. While there are some mods being made in America I don't know of any whole devices that are.

You can reduce quality issues by buying from an American supplier who offers a warranty. This offers some protection against duds. Some vendors such as eCigarettes and eLiquid from Awesome Vapor will allow returns if you simply don't like the product.

So far the quality of my Joye 510 has been very good. Batteries and atomizers aren't designed to last forever. I've been using the same equipment for about a month with no problems though. I have a few spares just in case.

Safety is a valid concern. It is our best guess that these are less dangerous than cigarettes. Just a few years ago Marlboro Mediums where recalled so we aren't immune to problems either.

Sadly even blue jeans are imported nowadays, and I'm writing this on a $2,000 chinese made iMac.

The good news is I haven't seen many reports of defective equipment. Most of the debate on this forum is which model of e-cig is the best overall.

If you can quit smoking out right thats the safest bet going. If not e-cigs are probably a step in the right direction.

As already noted... E-cigs are meant only for adults who already smoke regularly. It would be very foolish for a non-smoker to purchase an addictive product because they assume it is "safe."
