I don't know about looks as they all look like toys but the name Smart car is restarted, there is nothing smart about them. In fact there are gasoline powered cars that get just as good gas mileage and still offer some kind of protection in an accident....let alone they don't burst into flames when a battery fails and shorts. Then when it comes time to replace those batteries and your so proud of the savings you have had without buying as much gasoline, the hundreds to thousands of $$ you spend to replace those glorious batteries, sucks the pride straight out of your soul.

I drive a Smart Car, fun as hell, zippy and it's like driving a go-cart on steroids. I got a speeding ticket one night and the officer and I spent at least 20 mins on the side of the road cracking jokes and laughing like hell. Still got the ticket though

Smart Cars are gas powered, actually very safe. Great video of one slamming into a concrete barrier at 70mph on YouTube. Believe me if they were not safe, I would not drive one. Plus getting up to 45mpg is pretty nice, at the time 2008 which mine is, it won the best overall saftey award from the Insurance crash test rating group.

.....but I am not going to go off topic here any further...fun, safe and zippy, makes me happy.

The guy in the smart car today was playing with his phone and treating the car like a desk and doing paperwork while doing between 45 and 60 on the interstate with me up his ... cause every time he would get going he would get distracted and slow down again......some people it should be legal to "get up under and put in the wall".....lol

We have an Olds Allero.. it gets like 18mpg, it doesn't look like anything fancy at all. But it's got a better than average suspension and a V6 hiding under the hood.. baby can really haul when I need it to. I love that car.

There are a few groups that do that in Japan and in Europe, they use them for stunt cars. Suckers only weigh 1500lbs so they fly with those motors in them. Honestly it is a great car, had it for 4 years now and it has not giving us one single problem.

Agreed - you have no idea how many people I do that to on highway on ramps. I have no problem getting up to 60, even going up hill, before the end of the ramp. I look at it this way, if someone in a freaking Smart Car is riding your ... up an on ramp, you need to learn what a gas pedal is for.

You want something zippy and fun, get a Mini Cooper with a turbo. However the cops won't be laughing at or with you when you get pulled.

That is what my Eagle Talon TSi was for, loved that car, had it running 17lbs of boost

Just be careful around trucks please, my tractor alone weights 20,000 and 14000 for the trailer and all the time they load me right at the 80,000 pound mark.......so it wouldn't be much of a contest

Wouldn't be much of a contest for any car. I love the big trucks in the Smart, I can fit nicely behind you and get no drag on the highway.
