How's The Passage going for you?

I know you asked bog, but I started it too. With great pains I made it through the first chapter and some of the second. Please tell me it picks up the pace a little? If so I'll press on, but I'm afraid if it stays that slow I may have to pass.

Morning gh0zt and Drew. Rose, my dad has always been a 4:30 am guy. After my back surgery, he had to stay with me for several months until I could get around and do halfway for myself. During those months, I got in the habit of getting up with him and drinking coffee. No matter what time I go to sleep, my body tells me to get up at that time lol. So, I blame my pops.:)

Drew, it certainly does pick up. I generally give that warning that it starts slow but I promise it gets a lot better. And the sequel The Twelve is pretty damned good too though I preferred The Passage. The final piece of the trilogy is due summer 2014 The City Of Mirrors.

It is two books deep in my to read stack right now. I just finished with all the Flemming Bond books. Right now I'm halfway through Nightwatch, then Skeleton Crew, then It. I've never read It, but the TV movie scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.

You must read it manji! It's one of the few books where I think it helps to have watched the TV movie before reading. Because you've got Tim Curry's Pennywise in your head as you're reading which just makes the book even more awesome!

I will for sure! Tim Curry really has a knack for being super creepy. Have you ever seen the episode of Tales From the Crypt he was in? That one makes me feel all grimy everytime I watch it. On a side note I just read a short story in Nightwatch titled The Boogeyman that really seems like the framework for what would become It. If you haven't read that story you should check it out, it only takes 15 mins or so to read and is quite cool.

I have! What's cool is the crossover characters in all of his books. For instance, D I C K Halloran is in the shining, but he also makes an appearance in IT. There's a really cool scene in Dreamcatcher that also involves the Losers club in IT. I don't know if you've read Dreamcatcher, but there's a theory that Mr. Grey is actually Pennywise.

Edit: did ECF really just edit out the first name of the chef in the shining?

Rose, you know I would do it for you in a heartbeat. Hi AJ, where is your clown Avi? Good to see ya drop by. Hey everyone else, it appears that with my daughter out of school, she is going to try and keep me running all over God's green Earth.:)
