I have been doing the vaping thing for nearly a year, and I am still at the eGo stage LOL. Congrats,
and before you get into all that fancy/smancy expensive/risk blowing yourself up stuff, think about what you are satisfied with. I am good with a c twist/kanger clearo combo, and I doubt I will need any further. If you are into all the fancy mod stuff, that's fine, but what's good for you is what matters.

I quit smoking a year ago and loved the eGO's. I relapsed after 9 months when I busted my leg. (I know...no excuse.)...The other day, I quit again and pulled out all of the eGO stuff that I have and I even ordered some more. I love the variable voltage ones and although I'd love to get into the mods I think that I'll stay with the eGO's and see how that goes. I did however go and order a lavatube on ebay with the gear to see what it's like as it was super cheap. I also ordered some great flavors from mt. baker vapors. :) (Maybe I am moving back up in the world after all)....No withdrawals yet either. I never had any before. Good luck. !

Welcome! Keep it simple if it works for you...there's so much basic reliable equipment now, compared to 5 years ago when I first vaped (and fell off the wagon with poor equipment)...I'm enjoying my basic evods and a couple of MVP's for a bit of variable voltage, couldn't be happier! Of course you can turn it into a hobby if you like, enjoy!

There's a Volcano store here in Raleigh near my office. I go there to buy coils as they carry Kanger stuff too, but the lavatube there really looks attractive...........

I got my first EVOD kit from Puffin Monkey, they seem pretty cool. Just an FYI... don't remember what they got for replacement coils but online you can get them for about half. Or rebuild them yourself, they are pretty easy. Did you get some of the choco vanilla haze from them... it's pretty awesome.

BTW... Welcome RickLovesBacon sorry I forgot that part

Welcome, RLB... I love bacon too!!!

I didn't start vaping with any intention of quitting smoking, I just wanted to be able to satisfy my habit without having to hang out on the front porch in 20 degree weather. :D But before you know it... in like 2 wks of regular vaping... the cigarettes just went away. Oh, there's still 12 cigarettes in the last pack I was using, but they're just sitting there, getting staler by the day -- over 2 wks old now. I have no intention of smoking them, but I'm afraid, or at least, at the beginning I *was* afraid, that if I got rid of every available cigarette, I'd have a panic attack. So I just left them there.

Even if you do smoke again, not really an issue; it soon becomes very obvious that burning tobacco tastes nasty, compared to vaping, and oh yeah, it'll kill you. That last argument didn't seem to make an impression on me when I had no real option (patches and pills don't work for me), but now that I have an option to slow suicide by stink... well it's pretty obvious to me!!! :thumb:

Lots of good help and support around here, it's gotta be the friendliest forum on the internet!

Thank you all for the kind words. I started vaping without the intenttion of quitting smoking, but somehow I did. I have relapsed acouple of times since I started. Only after acouple hours of drinking at the local pub lol. I'm a gear head and love accesories. Mods were in my radar very quickly. A buddy of mine let me borrow his VTR and it was love at first toot. I might start with the MVP. I really like the box mods.

Today I had my first tank leak. I was working out of town and I went to the only vape shop I could find since I only had the one tank. The
T3S. I think it might have had a bad seal in the coil, but alas they had none so I just picked the Kangertech Protank 2 and their red bull juice. It was way overpriced but I was in the middle of no where and was fortunate to find a vape shop.

I love the tank but the store I went to had a horrible redbull juice. Next time I will try it before I buy it.

When I bought my 2nd T3S, that night after using it just a couple of hours, I noticed it was leaking, badly; the whole little compartment at the top of the battery where the contacts come together was flooded with juice. I had no idea what was causing it, until the other day when I got into changing coils. When I removed the coil from the base of the new tank, I noticed that one of the rubber gasket things, the smaller one near the top where the coil screws in, wasn't laying flat as it ought to; I poked it down over and over, but it still kept popping up. Finally I just took it off, and put it back on, and NOW, it lays flat. So weird. But that was almost certainly what was causing the leak, with that gasket not laying flat, it wasn't sealing the bottom of the tank properly. I also have to make sure and screw it onto the tank very slowly and carefully, to keep that gasket flat where it should be. I've ordered a new base, because this thing is just a pain.
