im sure there is a thread somewhere but
when it says my first five posts must be in the new members forums does that mean replies/threads or just new threads because im at five posts and i still cant post a thread in the general forum

I beleive it takes awhile for the 5-Post thing to kick in. An hour or so at most I'd bet.

Yes, it takes a little while. Someone said the server has to "re-set."
