Newb with a problem....OF COURSE!!!

This is my 1st time posting on the forum but I have been lurking about for about 2 months.

I got my ecig from a local tobacco store here in Alabama (they get them from saveasmoker.com) back in Jan 2011, but I just started heavy vaping with it within the last 2 weeks. I got the ego type (they call it a Riva but it is silver around the batt. button not gold lika a Riva)...anyway. Then I bought a tank system from Ovalle last month.

No problems with the products initially but now I am kinda having weird things happen. After I got the tank I tried dripping (cool) but now my atty is starting to leak really bad (I am only putting 3 drops in at a time). Also, my attys are getting really hot even the tank is getting hot after about 3 back to back hits. I have also noticed that I am having to recharge my batts sooner than I used to. They are only lasting about 4-6 hours. But that could be to me using them more than when I first started.

My questions are:
1. Why are my atties leaking so bad?
2. Why are they getting so hot?
3. Why the shortend batt life?

Note: None of my attys are LR.

Any feedback ya'll could give me would be wonderful. TIA.

Also, the tank system is cool but I don't like the deminished flavor. I am thinking about geting the LR tank or Stormy's tank mod with LED (that is just cool looking). The one thing that is holding me back from already ordering Stormy's is that I have seen alot of people say with a MAP tank they can't lay it on its side or it will gurggle and leak does Stormy's have the same problem?

Welcome to the ECF! Honestly, between the hot atomizers and shortened battery life, it sounds like you may be just vaping a lot! The other possibility is that these may not be the best atomizers. The batteries you describe sound like they could be imitations of the typical Riva. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but does call the quality of the atomizer into question. I have gotten atomizers with knockoff kits that were junk. I would recommend buying a couple of atomizers to see if the results improve. I personally like genuine Joye, but there are others who swear by EM and Boge as well. Vapemasters has genuine Joye for $5, but the shipping is $5.

I have the Riva 510 SE and haven't had any issues with atty leakage. The SE came with 2.0 ohm attys, and I find that I actually prefer the genuine Joye 2.2 ohm attys a bit better for whatever reason. Thanks for your post by the way! I was about to buy an ego-T not realizing I could use tanks on the Riva!

You are not by any chance dripping with the tank atomizers are you? They are not meant for that.

Thanks everybody for the replies. No I'm not dripping into the tank atty. As far as the other attys are concerned they could be knockoffs but seeing how I have been using them since Jan I figured they were pretty good. Thanks again everybody.
