hi i just found this forum and i am looking for a ecig and have no idea what to look for?
A little background about me i quit smoking over 2 years ago with nicorette and still chewing today but still have the want for a smoke and once in a while i fall off the wagon and have a few then its real hard to stop so i thought i would try this. If anyone could give me a few pointers what to look for that would be great.
thanks in advance

If you are not going to vape that often then I recommend a Joye 510 w/ manual batteries (see Cignot.com) and maybe get some Boge 510 cartomizers (the standard resistance ones that are 2.8-3.1 ohms, not LR, 2.5, 2.0). I get the cartos at LiteCigUSA.net and Liberty-Flights.com. Liberty-flights.com might also have a 510 manual kit - press the 20% off in the upper left of their front page first.

The 510 manual batteries are totally sealed on the threaded end and protect the battery from juice leaks. The cartomizers provide a more pleasant vaping experience. You will also need eliquid. You could ..... up some where you buy your kit but it may be Chinese juice. I recommend thin high-PG juices for cartos but nicotine in 100% PG can be pretty harsh. Then get some nicer juice elsewhere at a juice vendor. Backwoods Brew has nice tobacco juices.

Problem with an ecig is you would have to charge it before you can use it (about 1.5 hours for Joye 510, longer for most other ecigs). But for at home you could also buy a 510 pass through and an AC adapter suitable for passthroughs and use that off AC as quick as you could set it up.

Alternate choice 1: Visit Vapor4Life.com to see a KR808D-1 2-piece manual model (simplest solution and you can add eliquid to those cartomizers to get a bit more life out of them)

ALternate choice 2: If you smoke a LOT when you fall off the wagon then consider skipping the slim ecigs and at Liberty-Flights.com look at Riva 510 and Ego fat-battery versions of 510 w/ super long charge, but I do not recommend those LR atomizers if you are going to use it when you fall off the wagon. LR attys/cartos can be used by the fat battery models and give a hotter harder hit and I think too harsh for starting out. Get a standard resistance atomizer and some standard resistance Boge cartomizers)

One thing I like about ecigs is I was able to drop my nicotine to a very low level over time. I started at 18mg and now I am on 6mg and 0mg.

Do yourself a favor.. look into Bloog Maxx Fusion (KR808D-1). Look it up here on ECF, and see some reviews on you tube.

Best real cig experience you can have with an e-cig.

A little more expensive than the others out there, but you get what you pay for. Also, the "Godfather of e-cigs" (as I like to call him), Leaford, works for them.. in China, hand in hand with engineers and developers.. always on the cutting edge of e-cig technology. Bloogs a company you can have faith in for the long run if you ask me.

After you do your research, if you decide on a Bloog, send me a PM and I can give you a discount code.

Happy vaping! :vapor:

ps.. what ever you decide.. DO NOT GET A BLU! Anyone here will tell you that is about the absolute worst e-cig and waste of your money. But the PCC (personal charging case) is a great idea. Most vendors have something similar.

Looks like a cig means short battery life. Makes sense, it's shorter so the battery is smaller. If you go with a small two piece, make sure you get an extra battery or pcc. No juice will taste like the brand of cigarette you smoked. You might find something you like vaping, but juice just doesn't taste like a cigarette. Prefilled carts are an easy way to go but more expensive and the juice isn't as good. JMO.

Ya, nothing is going to "taste" just like a cig. But after a few days tasting different flavor juices, you'll wonder why you ever wanted to taste like a cig. Honestly, spend some money on samples from different vendors, and don't be afraid. You'll probably fall in love with some juice that you didn't think sounded good on paper.

Some of my favorites.. bloog prefilled 555 (nutty tobacco), Bloog prefilled Vanilla, V4L WowBoy (chocolate tobacco), and V4L Peppermint WowBoy (you figure it out) :p and FSUSA HopScotch (english toffee)

Riva Riva Riva :) check liberty flights and see what they have on offer - I was in your shoes a short while ago and made the costly mistake of buying a small ecig (identical to the Blu) as it came with a charging case and a "everything you need to stop smoking" - admittedly it did well for a few days but always left me wanting more, needed a new cartridge as the prefilled ones just weren't that good and the battery was poor it needed charging after every use or it was liable to just give up. it was more hassle than it was worth. After I joined ECF the guys on here gave me loads and loads of great advice and I decided to buy the strongly recommended Riva from liberty flights. It is awesome! I got the special edition and the battery lasts all day the throat hit is excellent and its a good looking bit of kit too. Stock up on juices of your choice as there's soo many to choose from and you can get 5ml pots until you find the ones you like and you'll never look back.

On the other hand you don't need to go far into the threads to find an abundance of positive stuff about Bloog :) and the EGO's get rave reviews all the time too. I don't think you'd go wrong with any of these and it could save you making the mistake I did.

Buy c rap - buy twice :)

Its tough to get started but I don't think you'll regret it

All the best

Well I don't vape tobacco flavors but I'm pretty sure those that do will tell you they won't taste like a cig. Some prefer certain vendors over others. I go for cheap and good. Madvapes.com TopVapor juice is one of the cheapest. I get a months worth 60ml for under $15. Some are good some are not just like anything subjective. I would recommend getting small bottles like 5-10ml of many flavors and picking out what you want to vape often. I liked RY4 juice when I first started. It has a tobacco like flavor but is it's own flavor. Others that do tobacco flavors can help more there. Pg and Vg are the base of the liquid and make up the majority of the juice. The other components being nicotine and flavoring/colorant. Pg is Propylene Glycol. It is a thin liquid and produces less vapor and I think more throat hit than Vg. Vg is Vegetable Glycerin. It is much thicker and produces quite a bit more vapor. Most juices are a mixture of the two in varying percentages. I vape a mixture something like 60% pg 40% vg. You will have to experiment to find what you like. Hope that helps.

Oh and I haven't seen much difference in juice quality based on price. Some charge $1 per ml. And to me that seems outrageous. So I buy the cheap stuff from vendors like madvapes where the cost is near 20 cents/ml when getting the 60ml bottle at 6mg strength. The price changes depending on nicotine content and volume. It depends on how much you're willing to spend and how much you will go through. I go through at least 60ml a month and lately closer to 100ml. So I want to keep my costs below what I spent on smoking. I would try to buy juice made in the USA rather than China. Good luck.
