Hi all,
I am a new member from South Africa. I have done some research here but didn't realise that they were so many options out there. I have used the "green smoke" e-cig but haven't committed to the e-cig completely.
I am at the stage where I want to invest in the something long term, but a little lost with all the options available.
Any advice what to consider.

Many thanks
Ernie

I'm a newbie here too, so I won't pretend to know what would be best for you. But this site is full of knowledge about everything out there. So my advice, start reading here and ask a lot of questions. You will get a lot of different answers as it seems different things appeal to different people. Following the advice here will probably get you off of analogs quicker and more successfully than just blindly buying something to get started. My experience here has proven that I went in the wrong direction at first (kiosk e-cigs) but fortunately I quickly stumbled onto this forum and was directed to things that provide a LOT more satisfaction (and will likely save you a lot of money). I am now 9 days tobacco-free and am so happy with vaping, I can't see myself ever going back to smoking.

Good luck!!!

As nansc said, the eGo is a great pv and a wonderful starter. I highly recommend going that way for now, later on you will want to jump into a mod, silver bullet, provari or such but I wouldn't go there yet. You have a LOT to learn (atty's, dripping, carto's, tanks and such with different resistance) before you find the vape that will make YOU happy. Once you start to narrow the field then start to refine your choices (3.7 volts on a 2.0 ohm Boge Carto is what makes me happy but might be a 3.0 ohm clearomizer on 4.2 volts for you).
Plus there are going to be mistakes and dry hitting a $1.50 carto and throwing it away is a lot cheaper than burning out a $15.00 atty.

Welcome , and the Ego is a nice PV , however there are some better options available . See if your able to get something called an E-Power . It's 3.7 volts , rather then 3.4 and the batteries are much cheaper to replace the the EGO's . And don't get me wrong , I have several EGO's . I just know their limitations . Also , see if maybe you can get something called a vari-stack . A very cheap ( 30.00 ) VV PV. that would at least give you a chance to try out different voltages . Good Luck . Oh and if you still decide to go with an EGO , at least get the new twist battery . It's a vv device as well .

I'll second the e-Power and kGo. Where you are, the Riva might be more available. Either of these are good starter units and good long term values. They're less expensive, more powerful and less prone to problems than either the eGo-C or the eGo-T. If you get a more advanced e-cig in the future, they'll make good backups as well.

Whichever you choose, make sure you don't get stuck in a situation where you have only one battery. You need one to vape and one to charge. The kGo and Riva kits come with 2 complete e-cigs, so you have two batteries and won't run out of power and have a nicotine fit.

The e-Power, specifically, is a good value because it uses replaceable batteries. You won't throw away the entire e-cig when the battery loses it's ability to hold a charge. The switch is also replaceable, so it's an e-cig you'll be able to use for a long time to come.

Any of these are great starters. You'll see lots of new vapers here who started with them and you'll find very few complaints or reports of problems with any of them.
