So I'm really new to vaping and have only really smoked hookah before it. I'm trying to get some safety info as my boyfriend and I just purchased our first vaporizer. Also looking for some good brands of e liquid, preferably not tobacco flavored and low nicotine to no nicotine content. Any other kind of info would be extremely welcome too! As well as info about this site and posting things because I've never joined a forum before, but I'm very excited to be part of the vaping community!

Hi and welcome to ECF.

#1 rule for safety:

If you get an eGo style e-cig: Do not charge it in your car or in your computer USB outlet only use the appropriate wall charger that comes with the eGo

If you get a big battery variable voltage or power MOD: Buy good quality high drain IMR battery (Like AW) and get an intelligent charger (Like Xtar).

If you want to get a mechanical: Research about Ohm's law and how it relates to battery safety. Learn about maximum discharge rate/amp limitations.

Maybe that's why we're getting a burn taste from our vaporizer. :/ Ours only came with a USB charger but no plug, so we plugged it into the computer to charge and now we have to replace the wick... Thank you so much for that information!

I have charged my ego batteries on my desktop computer for 2 years and never had a problem. Have they changed the recommendations because it only used to be don't leave them unattended.

It's just a safety precaution, all the incidence of "another e-cig exploded blablabal" were mostly from knock off egos charging in A: a car or B: a computer.

@SilverBlood124: If your juice taste burnt, that's another problem, not related to charging.

ah ok I just wondered if maybe I missed something. You're right safety first a safe charge bag would be a good idea too when charging. I was thinking about buying one just to be on the safe side.

I didn't quit smoking hookah, and i never smoked cigarette, but I don't have a hookah at the moment, and I can smoke e cigs indoors, which is great for me because it's so cold where I am. I'm not sure what brand of starter kit I got, I think it said ego or something. But it was just a $30 starter kit with some watermellon e liquid from Canyon Vapes. I'm kinda bummed that I started getting a burned taste from it after only a day of use.

I'm not sure. Mg boyfriend bought it and has it with him at work right now, but I'll be happy to post more info about bit when he gets home. Sorry I'm so limited on information at the moment.

Looked on the website only starter kit there was a ego-twist with a T3 clearomizer. Not sure why you are getting burning unless maybe you have the voltage up too high. Try turning it down some by twisting the bottom of the battery and see if that helps. Also I have heard with bottom coil don't let the tank get less than 1/3 full. Top it off if its that low.

Welcome. I was frustrated when I first started with a kit and became disheartened with the whole process and went back to smoking cigarettes. I decided to do more research, found this site and can happily say that I have completely switched to e-cigs and am really happy for the change.

Everyone here is super helpful and when you can post specs and maybe a couple pics of the setup someone will be able to help you figure it out. Cheers.

Could be that youre using 1.5 or 1.8ohm attys. I started using 2.50hm attys ONLY, and my burning tastes went away! It could also be that the atty is old and its time for a change and put a new one in

I think it might be an ego twist, we were told not to let it run out of juice, but I had no idea you could turn down the voltage on it. I'll give it a try and see if it helps, thank you.
