Hi all,

You've probably been asked this a million times, so forgive me for starting a thread on it, I just waded through so many different threads, and I'm none the wiser!

I've been thinking about moving from regular cigs to "cig-a-likes", and have a v2 coming my way. From reading this thread, it appears to be clear that all these are worthless and I should go to a personal vaper. The thing is I would like something that is :

a) Thin
b) not long
c) ideally look something like a regular cigarette.

Can anyone help me identify something like this. Perhaps an evod with a small battery?

I'd also like to know how long the battery would last for. At present I smoke B&H silvers, and go through about 10 a day, more when I'm out and about e.g where alcohol is involved!

I guess this is why I like the idea of cig-a-likes because they are small and resemble regular cigs, but from the sounds of it, they won't cut it.

Many thanks in advance!

For what it's worth, when I started I thought I wanted something that looked and felt like a cigarette. And thought I wanted something that tasted like tobacco, since I thought I wanted the exact same experience as smoking.

How wrong I was. I've barely even touched that tobacco flavor, even though I spent a bunch of time at my local B&M choosing the one that tasted the most like my old smokes. I'm now on a mission to sample all available blue raspberry flavors, and will likely start making my own juice. But I'm a geek like that.

I've used the eroll before, and personally found it ok but not without it's own hassles. I've found I prefer being able to push a button to get the vape rolling, versus having my inhale activate it. It's better than most of the disposable cig-a-likes, but not even close to my cheap eGo/Aspire BDC combo, in my opinion.

I was pretty happy and still am with my purchase from Halocigs.com. Ive since upgraded to rebuildables and variable voltage but if Sunday night rolls around and I dont have my all day vaper ready I grab my halo triton Monday before work. Its the next best thing as far as simplicity with decent flavor.

The triton is on the longer side (I don't really consider it long) but you might want the G6 with a heat shield. Its pretty small, short and works well. I love to buy the blank g6 cartomizers and pull the cotton out for tasting my different e liquids.

Overall halo was a great introductory starter set. Keep in mind, even though the halo batteries/tanks look similar they do not work with other devices. The batteries do work with both Triton tanks and G6 cartos but you cant go outside halo for your replacement parts. I really like their system and would recommend it to any new vaper.

Hope this helps

Many people start with the cigalikes, and some people never change, and are happy with them and don't smoke again.

If you want something that will have a longer battery life, I would recommend this Kanger Evod starter kit. You will get two batteries, so one can be charging while you use the other. You get two tanks/toppers, and a charger. This is a reliable vendor and if you enter the code ECF at checkout, you will get 10% off, making the kit around $30.

The egos are not really large, about the size of a sharpie marker. I found it very easy to get used to them. Here is a link:

Hi chuci, Welcome to ECF. I am from the U.K as well.
As long as you have the V2 coming, then give it a go. I didn't get on with cigalikes and ended up throwing them in the bin and smoking for another year, until a friend let me try his eGo PV.
So I went and got 1 from a local vape shop and I haven't smoked for nearly 4 months now.
Try the V2's but if they don't work ill post some links to cheap uk sites and you can think about getting an eGo/EVOD starter kit.
In terms of battery life they do differ 650mAh is the smallest and as a 10 a day smoker may last up to 12 hours. I thought I was a 20 a day and they lasted about 5-6 hours. But you can get much larger batteries over 1000+ that will last twice as long.

It might be worth thinking about this 1 the vv v3 it comes with everything you need to get started. it has a 800mAh battery and you can use it while its charging up so there's no down time. iTaste VV V3.O Kit - Starter Kits these guys are about the cheapest site but there are some others
Electronic Cigarette ecig Starter kits these have a bit more to choose from but are slightly dearer.
Hope this helps.

Thanks for all the replies guys. Think I've decided to go with an eroll and see how I get on with that. Lots of positive reviews for it so looking forward to trying it

Good luck. (You have now bought V2 and an eRoll?)

On 10 day, you'll be fine with whatever you buy.

Unfortunately for most, a cig-a-like will be an expensive fail. Still, as much as I think V2 overcharge in an disgraceful and shameful way, at least you didn't get sucked into the murky world of E-Lites, 10 Motives and Nicolites.

That's where the money is being made, but curiously, many of the people that use them are not actually quitting smoking.

The best mini e-cig that resembles a cigarette is the eRoll
The next best look-a-like is the Kanger KR808-D1, which is twice as cheap and 90% good. The refills for this are £1.00 compared to £3.99 for E-Lites.
Then, there is the Joyetech 510 battery with a standard cartomizer.

After that, it's a wasteland of pointless products, exorbitant prices and a pack of lies about what these things actually do. Some may "do" 20 cigarettes in puffs, but that'll be less than 10, maybe only even 6 or 7 in terms of Nicotine.

Good morning from the other side of the "pond" :) Welcome to the forums, and congratulations with your choice. Do let us know your opinion - I personally have not researched the eRoll, so I'd be curious to know how you get on with it.

I will second Hijack on the VV3. It's a slim device with a lot of lovely features. The battery itself is about 4" (10cm) long. Then, you would add a 2-3" long tank (5-6cm). The tanks can hold anywhere from 1mL to 4-5mL depending on how large of one you get. From a "cigarette equivalency" standpoint, my 1.5mL tanks give *me* the satisfaction of approximately 5-10 cigarettes (YMMV).

Cheers
