What a great place to learn.

I just started vaping last Friday the 13th. Our first set-up was the couples package from V2. The set up is nice and is working for now. I have become addicted to learn as much as posible in a very short time. I am happy with the V2 set-up but I want to get my next set-up ready as soon as possible. I have found it very confusing and expensive to get started and I don't have the time and funds to go all out this very moment.

I have bought 125ml of juice from v2 and backwoods to get started and felt like I have it covered for the next week or so for the wife and I. I understand that there are better set-ups out there and don't want to waste money and want to get the maximum for my next purchase. What is the most common battery set-up and carts or atomizers available that have a good price and is readily available online that ships quickly.

One more thing, as for my profession I have to travel 550 miles total twice a week and all my cigeratte lighter or "chargers" in my car are broken so I am looking for maximum charge with max vape. I smoked 1.25 packs a cigs a day before I quit last Friday.

I thank you for any info that you can give me.

Welcome to the forum and congrats to you and your wife!

Sweet Vapes has a Riva carto kit. You have the juice so you should be good to go with this. I would get the 1.7 single coil smoktek cartos. They hold around 2 ml of juice. This battery will last you around 7-8 hours.
Riva SE Carto Kit | Sweet-Vapes E-Liquid

Bigger battery 1100 mah is the KGO

BreezEsmokes - Premium Electronic Cigarettes

Both excellent basic pvs.

If you are serious about vaping and want 2 long lasting never have to buy another pv again(yeeeaaahhhh :p)just go for a variable tube mod. Honestly when t comes down to it if you want a starter kit that's fine but if you stick around here you are eventually want a mod at some point so why not just skip the BS and go with something good reliable.

Hi,

I am in the exact same place as the OP :)

I am thinking about a VV mod, but somehow I don't know if I really want to shell out that much right now. Are there any working cheap ones? I was advised to get the Darwin, but I find it way too expensive :) As for non-VV mods, I really can't figure out why metal tubes that fit batteries cost in the hundreds of dollars!

I'm also leaning toward a KGO kit right now. I'm thinking of trying that and maybe one of those tanks go around the cartos. It appears that KGO with low resistance cartos does a good job and lasts a lot. Is that truly true? What is an argument against it?

About the adapters, I'll just paste a link someone gave me here: http://www.madvapes.com/Adapters_c_166.htmhttp://www.madvapes.com/Adapters_c_166.html

Over the edge...
are there any special connectors that you can get that would allow me to use my V2 gear which is the 808's and connect them to the 510 set-up?

Yes, there are 808 to 510 adapters. And I don't think that the things sf and I suggested are BS. I'm vaping a Riva 510 right now. Have been for over a year. Yes, I also have some mods but don't use them all the time. Just trying to get you started. IF money is no object, go for a couple of mods.

NTSC or Bob,

You are talking in French to me now but you have my ear, any examples?

Hi. I have used the Riva and I was very satisfied with the performance. It hits well and battery life is quite good.

Having read your concerns about long drives without being able to charge, look into any mod that can take the 18650 battery. At 3000mah it should last you 24 hours at least.

I realize you mentioned money being tight but do whatever you can for backups. A few extra cartomizers go a long way. So does an extra charged battery.

All the best!!

I prefer any cartomizers that have the little cap at the end. Njoy is the exact opposite of what I mean here. Greensmoke and Smokestik use similar models that you CAN easily refill. This way you can reuse them until they croak, then just grab another out of your 5pack and start over. I've been using the same Smokestik cartomizer refilled for about 3 months surprisingly (I'm cheap).

As for the rest, just find something you like and that's compatible and order a few batteries/chargers. You can usually tell by looking at product descriptions, whether or not the male threads are on the batt or atty and so forth.

Once you do that, find some juice and you're golden.

Also, 125mL? Holy cow that would last months! If you do that in a week, slow down XD

A little unclear up there, sorry bout that.

If you get an ego battery 900mAh or 1100mAh with 510 size connections, you can use a variety of atomizers or cartomizers. I suggest you do NOT GET A LOW RESISTANCE atty. With that battery you can vape all day long. 2 of them and you are good to go! A mega ego atomizer will hold 2.5ml of juice. I am amazed how long they last! I buy by the pieces rather than a kit because there are just so many options.
There a tons of suppliers in China that will let you order "samples" and allow for great savings. Also Health Cabin offers good prices and a lot of informative explanations about attys and cartos.

i started with a KGO kit about 2-3 months ago and ill tell you what i love it its a great starter setup but like others are saying your going to end up with a mod in the future i can almost guarantee that..... i have a 5v mod and a 6v mod and the KGO i use all of em but i totally reccomend the kgo if your looking for a great reliable starter kit with great battery life and definitely get some LR carto's or a LR atty i prefer dripping when im just laying around the house but love carto's when im out and about..

The most inexpensive, variable voltage tube mod is probably the Lava Tube. Throw a carto and tank on it, take some extra batteries with you and a bottle of juice...you should be set for your 550 mile travels. Right now Volcano.com has only the tube mod, not the kits, for $69.99. They have a 10% discount code "volcanoAFFC10" which would save you around $14.00 on two Lava Tubes. Buy some tanks, stainless steel punched 3.0 ohm cartos, some 18650 AW IMR batteries...at least 4 batteries, but I would get 6 for two of you and you should be good to go. The LAVATUBE

Volcano ships FAST! I had my LT in 2 days from Hawaii.

After reading your story, I think you'll need a simple device with lasting power, minimal to none tinkering. Depends on your budget, if you willing to spend +/- US $200, get yourself a Reo Grand, a pair of 306 LR atty, and at least 4 battery (AW IMR 18650 batteries) and of course a charger for those batteries. A Reo grand can last for 2 days without charging or refilling (3ml of juice a day usage). After that, what you need to do is just swapping the battery with a fully charged one, refill the juice bottle, and it'll ready to use for another 2 days. You can charge those batteries when you get home.
If you think that's too expensive, another route is what sf recommended, a riva 510 kit, get the 1100 mAh Riva, and some LR (Low Resistance) cartos.
You can use your existing V2 cartos with both of them, using an adaptor.
Anyway, this is just my opinion.
