I'm a real newbie, too; but, I've been getting a pretty education about tanks as the result of my favorite juice being "a tank kiler." One of the earlier posters mentioned the disposable "fake cigarette" type of cartomizer; but, if he mentioned that a lot of clear tanks also use an inner cartomizer, I missed it. (I'm pretty tired right now, though.) One of my tanks (a DCT) uses them, as will the polypropylene tanks I'll be ordering from Valley View Vapes this coming week. (The thing I dislike about my DCT tank is that it's a real hassle to keep topped off. My new ones will have a hole on the side, w/a thumb-screw. I'm really hoping I like them a lot better. I might well be wrong; but, the impression I've gotten is that the higher the percentage of VG in the base (which make the juice thicker), the more likely that more holes will be needed in a (tank's) cartomizer.

LOL, I can definitely relate - over the past 6 weeks, it's been a lot like learning a foreign language...

As far as juices go: If you have a vapor store near where you live, a lot of them have sampling rooms. They give you a latex "condom" to go over the clearomizer's drip tip/mouth piece; and, you can just switch out clearomizers filled with all of their different juices to your heart's content. That way, you can figure out what you like and don't like. (It's good manners to buy a bottle when you find something you really like, even though they don't require it...)

I WISH I had a local vapor store. My local discount tobacco store only sells the disposable cartomizers (7s) for $11.99/set of 2). They go on a little fakie e-cig.

The only REAL vape store is about 2 1/2 hours from me, outside Cincinnati. The joys of living in BFE. I wish civilization were closer.

Nice to know the etiquette if I'm ever anywhere where there is a B&M vendor. :) Thanks.

Be well,
H.

VVV tanks are great! As far as your other one, if you don't have a tank tool (like a "Slap Yo' Mama" or something similar) you should get one. It makes dealing with carto tanks super easy. VVV sells them, but doesn't call it a Slap.

ETA: Not all stores let you samples juices, I think most do though. The only store in my town doesn't. :(

Is this the VVV's version of the Slap Yo Mama ? Why in the world is it called that? LOL

Plug for Sidewinder

No, it's this one: Triple V Tank Tool

It's called a Slap Yo' Mama because it comes from Big Daddy Vapor and they have a weird theme with the names of their products.

You use the tool to push the carto part of the way down to fill the tank with liquid and not get it in the carto itself*. You also use it to put new cartos in, so the sharp edge of the carto doesn't knick the tank's inner O-rings. If you have a dead carto, but the tank has juice in it you don't want to pour out, you can use the tool to "Hot Swap" a new carto in too:

"The Ocelot Method"

*This is for tanks that don't have a side screw to fill them.
