Hi,

first time poster, longtime smoker. Looking to quit period.

Finding some of the abbr. more than a bit confusing.
Definately want to stop smoking , but its a little hard to navigate all the options.
nic gum/patches
script meds (damn insurance doesnt cover!!?!?!?!?!)
and finally this ecigs.

I've smoked for 30 yrs next week. minimum of a pack a day , when I still drank it could go up to 4 a day on some nights.

So , my first post here is to get some lingo info.

Any takers?

And come common ones

atty - atomizer
cart - cartridge (what is use on an atty)
carto - cartomizer (a combined disposable cart with internal atomizer, preferred to atty + cart)

3 piece ecig = battery + atomizer + cart (and popular threading ones have blank cartos available)
2 piece ecig = battery + cartomizer

mah - amount of charge a battery has (100mah is about 1 hour of moderate vaping)
ohms - resistance of an atomizer of cartomizer

(only big batteries 450mah or larger can use the hotter low ohms LR attys and cartos)

You'll find a lot of abbreviation that don't have a pop-up bubble when you hover over them. I got this list somewhere on the forum and copied it to a word doc. I don't know how to attach it so I'll have to paste it here. It's kind of long. Sorry.

Just to follow up on reprisal's comment, I've had a similar experience. For a good long while after I switched to vaping, if I had an equipment malfunction or ran out of juice, I'd buy a pack of smokes within about 2 hours, and I'd smoke until whatever the problem was, got resolved.

Now, after a little more than a year, if I can't vape, I skip it. I just got back from my honeymoon, and I didn't want to take an ecig on the train to Canada because I hadn't realized how ......edly lax the customs agents are on the US/Canada border. So, I just didn't bring one. I vaped when I got home after 4 days. Day 3 was the only day it was even a problem.

My day-job is at a Casino, where EVERYBODY smokes, and after only a year of vaping, I find the smell of cigarette smoke unpleasant.
