Hey all. First off, I want to thank all of you in the forums for your reviews and comments.

I have seen more and more people vaping and was at the mall one day, and on the spur of the moment I picked up a pair of smoke free batteries (RN4081 – I believe), charger, carrying case and a 5 pack of cartomizers.

Then I did a little research and figured out that I paid too much… but still enjoy them. The forums helped me to figure out how to refill the cartomizers, and I picked up a chocolate and coffee eliquid, figuring they would mix well, which they do. (I also picked these up from the mall kiosk the very next day, I didn’t want to wait for shipping)

Over the next couple of weeks I browsed the forums trying to figure out what to buy as my next PV but determined to save enough from not smoking analogs to justify the cost.

Then I washed one of the batteries, which ruined it. I worried about not having my backup battery, so picked another spare and another set of 5 cartomizers.

Since then I’ve learned what it tastes likes to let my cartomizer get too low on fluid and burn a little wadding. I’ve overfilled the carto.. and sucked ejuice. Poured over reviews and comments trying to figure out if I want a 510, 901, riva, tornado, ego. Stick with the cartomizers, or go to an atomizer / cart? Try a tank? So much to choose from!!!

Today I made the mistake of overfilling my carto while it was still on the battery and fried it. I still hadn’t figured out what I wanted as my next PV… So I ordered both the 510 and ego, both with one manual and auto battery from cignot. (The ego manual will also work as a passthrough)

Now to keep this smoke free battery charged until the postman shows up!

Next decision… what flavor e juice to try? Any recommendations?

Always take the carto off the battery when filling. And sometimes I hold a tissue on the other end. When done I make sure it is done dripping (if it is dripping) then I blow through the threaded end a few times to try to clear the air channel so I won't get juice in my mouth or hot sputtering drops. The it's good to let it sit for a bit so the juice can distribute.

I think AZSMokeFree has a manual RN4081 battery and it should be totally sealed on the threaded end. I recommend manuals. VaporKings.com also sells some RN4081 stuff. Just searhc both for RN4081 and for 4081

Well it sounds like you learned a lot of what not to do. I did many of the same things but had manual batteries - it survived the juice drips.

Hmmm - ejuice. I had to vape tobacco juices for the first 2 months. Foody flavors made me crave an analog. My transition to vaping some foody flavors started by changing the flavor of a plain tobacco by adding FreedomSmokeUSA Chocolate, Vanilla Tahity, or oRYental 4 (a sweet caramelly tobacco), as well as Backwoods Brew Vanilla Bean. Now I mostly vape BWB Vanilla Bean, FSUSA oRYental 4, BWB Casablanca (I may add a bit of FSUSA Cocoa to this) or FSUSA Voodoo (to me it tastes a bit fruity on the tongue and smells a bit like cinnamon).

Something else I like - Velvet Vapors (in their Velvet Blend PG/VG) - Vanilla Almond Tobacco is a rich sweet vanilla w/ some almond and a bit of TH. Raspberry Gingerale is great - tingly Th and tastes like Raspberry Gingerale (they also have plain ginger ale). I still have to work my way through the rest of the samples I got!

Welcome to ECF and congrats on your new lifestyle choice!
You may also take those 2 batteries back to the mall and see if they will warranty them for you just to tie you over till your new supplies arrive! I would just play it innocent and not mention the washing the battery as they made plenty of bucks on you! " I have no idea why the quit working but if you want my future $'s you need to make this right" LOL They don't have to know it's the last time they will ever see you LOL
Also if you could get those replaced it might be a good little setup to get a friend to try and change there life also! That's what we did with our 1st "mall kits"!

It sounds like you've learned a lot of "what not to do" in a very short period of time. Congratulations. Did you buy full kits for the 510 and eGo?? Or, just one battery of each? Either way, you will probably enjoy with the eGo passthrough the most. For me, that has been the handiest battery I've owned.

Dormouse made some great suggestions for juices already. You may also want to keep an eye on the Supplier's Forum this weekend to see if there are any good President's Day sales. The best advice is to buy small quantities/samples of different flavors and nicotine levels until you find exactly what you like.

Good luck and congratulations on switching to vaping!

I can just imagine the mistakes I am going to make but I look forward to making them! Anything will be better (and probably cheaper) than what I have to pay for a carton of analogs and the greater cost to my health. I still haven't decided where to make my first order but I am finding much more USEFUL information here than anywhere else I have looked (and where haven't I looked??) so thank you one and all! The advice has been much appreciated!!

Welcome! You're a good way into the learning curve.

Juices are the hard part- everyone's tastes are different, and will change over time. You're best bet is to get sampler packs in a range of flavors you think you'll like. On the bright side, if you get a flavor you hate, you might like it later, or you can almost always find someone else who does like it (sell, trade, or pay it forward)

Just some tips on filling: It's way too easy overfill when dripping from the bottle, and then you have to waste the juice by blowing it out. Get some 18 gauge needles instead. Put a cap with a long plug on the battery end. Stick the needle all the way down the side, and then slowly fill as you pull the needle up. Do it on the opposite side. Wait for a seconds to let it absorb, then insert the needle about halfway down and suck out a little juice till the top looks moist, but not wet. Gently blow in the battery end to make sure it doesn't gurgle. If it does, the juice will puddle at the top and it's easy to suck it out.

I purchased two full kits, each with a manual and automatic battery.

Hands free vaping vs the durability of the manual.
Short battery life of the 510 vs the not looking like a cigarette Ego.

Without being able to see or use them I couldn't decide... so I didn't.
It was enough self control to just pickup these two kits with just the attys and cartridges. I held off on the cartomizers, drip tips, and tank system. There are so many variations on how people vape!

I can see my self wanting a tank for my all day vaping and drip tip to sample new juice.

I also have some friends, family and co workers interested in them and it will be nice to be able to show them the differences.

What I've done is add in and atty or two that I want to try with a juice order, you end up with a pretty good collection in no time. :)

The tank is intriguing but I've been following the ego-T threads and figure when they come out with the next version (with the problems fixed??) is soon enough.
