Timeline:
--My girlfriend got a cheap Q Cigarette/e-liquid set from Half Off Depot in November and quit smoking.
--I found ECF in early December and realized we had to learn a ton to keep from getting overcharged.
--For myself, I broke down and got two $20 starter sets from Eon Smoke at a local store here in Manhattan and quit smoking.
--Kept reading ECF and learned enough to refill my Eon Smoke cartomizers.
--Got our first e-liquids from LiteCigUSA just after Christmas.

Feedback:
--For one type of technology, there are way too many brands and types of E-Cigs and it's still close to overwhelming.
--ECF has been very helpful.
--My girlfriend as been puffing on that Q Cig daily and the battery is fine after numerous rechargings. The atomizer's fine. Lots of refills of her cartridges. Looks cool because it's thin and jet black.
--Eon Smoke seems to be the ubiquitous store-front E-Cig here in NYC. Fatter than the Q Cig. Battery life on both brands seems short, but maybe that's the technology. Refilling the Eon cartomizers is easy.
--Plenty of vapor from both brands.
--Picked LiteCigUSA for e-liquid because of ECF feedback. Prompt, and the owner posts on ECF.

What's next:
--I now have to identify the Q Cig batteries and atomizer and figure out how to replace them, if they're replaceable.
--I also have to identify the Eon Smoke e-cig type and figure out if the batteries are replaceable, and figure out whether generic cartomizers will screw into the Eon Smoke battery end.

That's it. Just some random feedback and a big thanks to ECF for a new-found lack of bad breath and smoky fingers.

Congrats on making the switch!! If this is the ecig you bought,
Q-Cig 510 version Disposable | 1-Joye 510 | KR808D-1| E-Cigarette | eSmoker Online

it is listed as a 510 connection which is very common. You should be able to buy replacement cartomizers from nearly any vendor and fill them yourself. Many ecigs are sold with standard connectors like a 510 and some that are incompatible. I can't tell from the site what type of connection the Eon is but maybe someone more familiar w/ the 2 piece ecigs can chime in.

Starting vaping is a bit overwhelming for everyone so don't hesitate to post questions for more info. We all love to help. Welcome to the ECF and Congrats on starting '12 smoke free!!

Congratz on you and your girlfriend quitting smoking. Everyone has their starting point and it seems you guys found a decent brand but their battery life is a downer.

According to my search, q cigs seem to be 510 so that means you could replace them with an eGo/Riva battery. Should give you about a days worth of vaping and they are around $19 depending on your vender (i recommend madvapes).

Eon smoke on the other hand i couldnt find which thread they are compatible.

I shot them an email to see if they would tell me. They look like kr808d-1's but please don't take my word for it. There are several threadings that closely resemble the other. I want to see if they confirm this. If not, get yourself a 510 kit like an eGo.

Welcome, as long as you're staying off the stinkies, it's a good thing.

My recommendation is also 510. I think you should get a mod right off the bat, but that's just me. Once I got my first mod, I wonder how I ever got this far using Cig20 and then eGo. I do use my eGo when I need something small for a trip or stealth vaping at the movies, but my mod is now my constant companion.

Update from the original post:

TIMELINE:
--Dumped QCig
--Temporarily dumped Eon Smoke
--Started shopping at LiteCigUSA and have been using them for e-liquid.
--Bought Joye 510 manual starter packs for me and my g/f, then bought extra batteries and atomizers.
--Tried Joye 510 autos.
--Switched back to Eon Smoke
--LiteCig has been running out of e-liquid and is now completely out of 30ml bottles.
--Can't post anything on the forum because I'm still considered a "noob." So I can't give LiteCig public feedback.

FEEDBACK:
--I hated the 510's. Not enough smoke, less throat hit than Eon. The multiple autos all crapped out very quickly, even though both my g/f and I never direct-dripped. Atomizers seemed to crap out fast. I absolutely hated the cartridges, especially compared with the massive amount of e-liquid the Eon held in its cartomizers. My girlfriend uses Eon now, too.
--Eon is not supposed to be good because you can buy them retail. But yeah, you can buy them in a lot of places in Manhattan. I can now get an auto battery and two cartomizers for 17 bucks... 16 if I shop a mile away from the apartment. Knowing how much we spent on the Joye stuff, I can honestly say the Eon has been cheaper. I'm shocked at how many times I've recharged those stupid batteries. The cartomizers hold a ton of e-liquid and last quite a while. I ended up buying a pack of 5 cartomizers down the street (for around 10 bucks) and have totally switched both of us over.
--LiteCig is really good with shipping and billing. Solid company. Not happy with the amount of money I spent there for crappy Joy autos and such, but it's not their fault. They credited us when they could. At the moment, not happy with the Dekang e-liquid that they carry at the moment. Will have to track down Shawn and talk to him before I post more.
--I hate that I have to post 5 times here to get access to other parts of the forum, but oh well. I'll deal.

WHAT'S NEXT
--Post three more times so I can actually use the forum in the way I should be able to use it, knowing how much knowledge I've gained smoking e-cigs for 6 months. (No, I'm hontesly not bitter.)
--Figure out what's up with Dekang liquids and if I can buy more from LiteCig.

That's all for now.

Can you tell me where in NYC you bought your cartomizers from?

I just picked up an EonSmoke economy kit today.

Richmond, Va...Right in Altria's back yard.
Youre not factoring in the cost of all those recharges into your equation...the danger with those is that soon all of those batteries are going to start failing spectacularly, youve probably already noticed how you have to charge them even more frequently than before....sooner or later theyre just going to crap out on you and leave you stranded.Give the Egos a try, Ive gotten 8-10 hours off a single 650MaH ego and I used to be a heavy smoker.

Many of us that switch over to big battery mods do so because in the long run they last longer and are cheaper because you dont have to charge them as often which means longer working battery life. For comparison, 18650's for my Provari are 10.99 at RTD Vapor and last quite a bit longer than a kr808 battery

2 weeks so far!

So happy about this new experience... Got to admit it took 5 days to switch from an automatic e-cig to a variable voltage device.

Cigarettes look a like device is only use at work and come with me in a plastic bag because it keep on spilling everywhere.

Otherwise than technical issues, it's awesome and will never use a analog cigarette for the rest of my life
