Hi Guys,

I'm Jen from Canada, I just started vaping a week ago but I've been lurking the forums for about a month, and finally decided to sign up today. I really like to take my time and read up on things before I decide to make an investment so I took a good while before I made my decision as to which model I would start with. I still have tons of questions and tons of reading to do but I think I'm on the right track now and that is entirely because of this forum.

Being new, I should probably just warn you all... My husband tends to describe me as verbose. My posts or replies to anything are usually well thought out and contain a lot of information, so if you're not into wallotext then by all means you've been warned and I won't take offense if you decide to skip this.

To start out, I've been a regular analog smoker since I was 12 or 13. I bought my first pack (player's filter) when I was 12 for $2.50, tax free, on the local reservation. I'm 28 now, and since then I've quit (with desire to quit) for all of two weeks, once in my late teens after being ill and unable to smoke... when I got better and went back to smoking, I smoked more than I ever had in my life. That's when I decided that I would never try to quit unless I was positive that I was completely ready for it. Jumping form 1/2PAD to 1PAD is quite extreme. Since then, the price of cigarettes has risen significantly and I have the unfortunate situation of living in one of the highest taxed provinces of Canada, and you can no longer buy them tax free on the local reservation. If I wanted to buy the brand I prefer it would cost me $15 for a pack of 25 (and no, I'm not kidding)... who can afford that? Not me.

Obviously, besides getting off the cancer sticks and everything negative about them, there was monetary incentive in making the switch. Although, of course, I suspect just like myself that everyone who makes the switch makes some bad investments at first and my wallet has certainly taken a hit from switching to vaping due to my own bad choices which I'll explain later but none of that even compares to the hit I would have been taking in the long run paying for analogs.

Moving on to the good stuff... When I ordered my first PV kit I was so excited to try it out but at the same time there is a bit of a skeptic in me so I decided that I would try vaping as not an "alternative" to smoking analogs, but just for something fresh and fun to try along with my analogs. I work from home, so I spend all day at my computer and I'm super busy most days. I also hate the smells of analogs and the residue it leaves on my clothes and hands... so I never smoked analogs in my house, even in the brutal winter, lol. I thought vaping might be good for me to take up at my desk and to help me avoid sneaking out every 5mins to smoke an analog. I never set any crazy goals to quit nor did I really truly believe I would.

Well that was over a week ago, and the instant I woke up and saw my package on the table I tore it open and vaped my head off. I vaped ALL DAY! At my desk, and after work watching TV, and In my bed before sleep. For the first two days, I OD'd consistently. I haven't touched an analog since, nor do I really have any desire to. Sometimes I still forget and do the motions I normally did when I used to smoke analogs... I'll randomly stand up from my desk and walk to the door and then come the the realization that I need to go back and sit down and vape... but aside from that and the occasional desire for a better throat hit, I really don't think I'll take analogs back up... unless I run out of juice I like which is definitely a possibility.

My first starter kit was a Halo G6 with 5 torque56(24mg) carto's, 2 blanks and with an addition of their 7 5m/l samples (torque56, prime 15, malibu menthol, freedom juice, menthol ice, tiki juice, tribecca). And it goes without saying really, I don't think anyone who receives a package from Halo has ever not been impressed and you'd probably be hard pressed to find someone who has a complaint about product or service. Even being an inexperienced user, you cannot mistake the quality and thought put into not only the device, but also their juice (and I don't even like some of the flavors) as well as their packaging. Top notch stuff, really. I'm not one to give plugs or even compliment, I have very high standards for myself and others and it takes quite a bit to impress me. There is no mistake, these guys are just as serious as I am. I was extremely happy about that.

That said, as I mentioned earlier I am having an issue with juice... probably its just my taste-buds are dulled still from smoking for so long and they haven't had a chance to recover, but everything pretty much tastes like crap, but at the same time I'm not very picky and I'll still vape whatever... if that even makes sense. When I bought my order from Halo it got stuck in customs for a bit and I got really worried I wouldn't get it, so I ordered a kit from .......... (big mistake) and a sampler size of 40 of their juices. My order from halo did come in just days before my 2nd arrived, thankfully because if I had just judged vaping on ..........'s device and juice I probably wouldn't have ventured further into this wonderful world.

While Halo juice is all from the same base good, american made and all that good stuff... I find really only subtle differences in just a few flavors (menthol ice, malibu, tiki juice, freedom juice) and the rest kinda just blend altogether (torque, tribecca, prime15). I really like Malibu Menthol... I ran out of it today but I find it doesn't always provides that TH I need, especially in the mornings so I'll usually just vape on my torque56 prefilled in the am or when I need that extra kick. Unfortunately I've run out of 24mg torque this evening, and will be changing to the 18mg tomorrow, we'll see how that goes over. The only 24mg I have now are the chinese samplers I've ordered from E-cig (not impressed). Most of them clog my carto's though and taste like crap and very similar and really not what they're labled as. Anyone have a lead on a name of good chinese juice that I may have on hand to try? I've only tried a handful of flavors and not touched the rest yet.

After about a week of puffing on the g6, I've decided I want to get more serious and I wanted to try dripping. I decided to give my G6 to my husband to get him started and pick up a new toy for myself. Naturally, I went back to Halo and ordered an Element starter kit, a 30ml bottle of malibu @18mg, a 5 pack of cartridges for when I need to be on the go, 2 drip tips (black and pink) and a passthrough battery for myself as well as a 5 pack of prefilled malibu carto's, a 5 pack of blank cartos and a 30ml malibu @18mg for my husband to get him going on my not-so-old G6. I'm going to convert him, I know it! :) The goodies are in transit as we speak and I really don't know what I'll do if customs nabs it... fingers crossed for sure. I also made plans to make an order for juice from BWB... I was going to wait for my email confirmation on RY4 being in stock before I made an order but with Don being away on Holiday and my fear of customs and running out/going back to analogs, it may not be able to wait if I can't make these chinese juices make due until my next order comes in. I'm particularly interested in the Waffle, Maple Tobacco, in addition to the RY4 juices BWB has to offer. But I may not be able to wait for RY4, I may just make an order as soon as he's back in production.

Any Ideas on my chinese juices from .......... guys? :) any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, I'm kind of on the verge of being in a bind!

The Chinese place I ordered my samplers and crap device from was ecigdotcom sorry I'm still a newbie so it blocked out the name in my original post without me realizing it! the device I got was absolute crud, but truthfully I was banking on my halo order coming in and just planning to use the e-8 I bought from there as a device to carry with me on the go.

Most of the reason I stuck with the G6 and e-8 models to start with was because I wanted to be able to enjoy my habit outside as well as inside and not draw large amounts of attention to myself in public or vaping outside with friends who smoke analogs, so I chose the models that resembled more of an analog. while the E-8 does a really good job of looking like an analog its performance is absolutely positively terrible. Maybe its just my shipment but I'm extremely dissapointed with it... the drag resistance is huge... while it does produce tons of vapor there is nearly zero TH and the battery cuts off wayyy too soon. I thought if anything I would give it to my mother to try and convert her, but I've decided it would be mean of me to subject her to that, lol.

Is your Chinese juice Dekang? If so, I have some faves: RY2, RY4, Mango, Wensten, and Turkish Blend. These are all tobacco based flavors.

Welcome to ECF. I hope your vaping experience continues to improve!

Also, it does take about an hour for the servers to refresh. After that, you should get your PM privileges.

Seems like I have the PM priv's now, thanks guys!!

Baron, as for the juices I ordered the 40 sampler pack from ecigdotcom and just selected the "most ordered" version of it. I do believe I have some Wensten and Turkish in there (no ry2/ry4), I will try it for sure, thank you for the suggestion! As for Mango, I have tried it but it didn't really do anything for me, If I recall correctly it was rather mild. I should mention though that with primarily the halo juices I have on hand, Tribecca and Prime15 smell DELICIOUS, but I don't like vaping them? what gives! the same goes for some of the Chinese juices...

I should mention that I vape those flavors at 5 volts. That being said, you may just not like them. Flavor is such a personal thing. I like Halo juices, as well. I've had experiences like you explained, where a juice smells wonderful but the taste is a let down. I've also had the opposite occur. It's a shame that your Canadian citizenship is complicating things. Here is a link to the Canada forum (if you haven't already been there):

You should find lots of good info and fellow Canucks here.

Good luck!

Actually, I'm kinda lucky in a way. Although I have been to the Canada Forum... My husband is actually an American from California :) We're saving up and working on my papers for my greencard as we speak hehe! Although admittedly this new vaping venture may put a slight niche in our speed of saving, in the longrun I just know it will be worth it hehe!

Does anyone else have any suggestions on good juice from e-cigdotcom that I may already have on hand? I don't have that many blanks left and would rather go through my 40pack not blindly if possible :).

To date, I've tried Green Apple, Grape, Orange, Coconut, Vanilla, Mango, Caramel, Watermelon... these were all pretty much terrible... MS Menthol was the only one I actually liked and I only liked that because it resembles very closely to my husband's favorite Camel Menthol Crushes but its not a particular favorite of mine. I still have 30-some flavors yet to break into in their "most ordered flavors" sample pack. If anyone has any good experiences please name that flavor so I can give it a try.

Welcome to ECF, I recommend juice from pinkspotvapors (iirc the owners of pinkspot are former bartenders, their drink flavors are dead on, tahiti breeze pina colada and pink spot deserve mentioning) and rawrvapor (rawr specializes in menthol), I'm vaping hawaii sunrise from rawr right now with the "cool" menthol level, it's great.
