Hello, everyone. I've been hearing about E-cigs for quite a while now. I believe Blu was the first one I'd heard of. Anyway, about two weeks ago, I decided to try e-cigs. My friend's mom tried them and didn't like them a whole lot, but I was sick of coughing up phlegm all the time. I also know smoking isn't good for me, but the problem is I enjoy the feeling I get from nicotine. I'm not the kind of smoker who wants to rip someone's head off without cigarettes. A pack can last me up to a week, depending on whether or not I'm drinking, who I'm with, what there is to do, etc. Anyway, I got myself and my girlfriend a Blu starter kit. She smokes WAY more than I do and tried to quit with Chantix, which didn't work because it just made her feel sick and ....ty. I went with blu because I'd heard of them before, and they seemed to be at least better as a company than those stupid "free trials." I already was aware of how they operate... billing me every month whether I want something or not. So far, so good. I hit a speed bump with the first starter kit. My batteries would only take a max of like 25 minutes to charge and die 2 or 3 times before finishing a cartridge. I sent them back to be replaced but haven't gotten the replacements yet. Since then I've read around some more, watched some videos, and learned a lot. I wish I'd known about Volcano before I ordered from Blu. They have more options with LED colors, and the pack seems better and more useful. The 2nd set of blu batteries work better, but still not how Blu advertises. They do not warn you when you've been dragging on it too much. They take 30-45 min. to recharge as opposed to what Blu says, which is 1 to 2 hours. They do not last thru 2 cartridges. They last for about ONE cartridge. It's somewhat confusing when the battery is done charging. And it didn't seem to be working at all at certain times.

Well it's working a lot better for me now. I've figured out hitting it like hitting a cigarette doesn't work. It's a good alternative to smoking. I know it's not very popular around these boards, but I like it overall. Since I'm not a heavy smoker, I'm not recharging more than 2 times a day, which I don't think is bad at all. I've been going thru about one cartridge a day. I can already smell things more easily. It's great. However, I wish I'd heard of volcano first because even though Blu works fine for me, I'm a bit ...... off by the fact that they made exaggerated claims about its battery life and charging time. The amount of time they actually do last, while isn't great, is sufficient. I just don't see why they had to lie about it. And when my batteries didn't meet the claims, I'm left to wonder if they're defective, or if they just lied. Upon further research, I found out they lied. But my original batteries didn't last as long as the ones I have now anyway, so they were still defective apparently. I don't care a great deal about whether or not my e-cig looks real, but I like that it's no more inconvenient than holding an actual cigarette. I don't think I'd want anything much bigger. The pack is convenient as hell.

My girlfriend, being a heavy smoker(about 2 packs a day before, now about half a pack to one full pack... Hey, she's making progress), bought a bunch of extra batteries and atomizers. She can't stand to have to wait for her battery to charge. I got extra batteries for when/if the ones I have now crap out. I ordered some E-juice from Vapor Renu over the weekend, and I'm eagerly awaiting being able to smoke a cigarette that tastes like pina colada. =D I'm saving my blu cartridges to refill.

As of right now, I think the Blu/Volcano is sufficient for me, and as long as all the batteries and atomizers don't crap out at once, it should be fine for the girlfriend as well. We'll see. All I know for sure is, this is a hell of a lot better than smoking. HOORAY FOR E CIGS!!

Read up in our Library section - more info than you can eat in one meal! lol
We do havea subsection for people who have (and like) the Blu - or just want to make it work better/to its best and you'll find that one here Blu Electronic Cigarettes - E-Cigarette Forum.
Compared to other (less advertised) brands its not as popular as the company would have you believe but that doesn't make it a 'bad' PV just one with a short battery life and overpriced carts. You should find enough info here to either make it work FOR you or ditch it and get something that will suit you (and your wallet) better :)

UPDATE: Okay, so today I got my batteries from Blu. I don't know if they replaced them, or if they just sent me the old ones back. I got an envelope with just the batteries. No note or anything. I'm not even sure if the batteries were really bad in the first place... Oh well. I don't plan on dealing with blu again simply for the lies about battery life and the shadiness.

I got my ejuice from vapor renu. DEFINITELY recommend their juice. It's amazing. I get SO much more vapor from my blu, it's not even funny. The stock carts SUCK. Ever since I put my new pina colada ejuice in my blu, I haven't been able to put it down. Absolutely awesome. I'm totally satisfied with my blu now. All the problems that bothered me before have been fixed by using new juice and adding filler to the cartridges. Well, there still is the short battery life, but again, I'm not a heavy smoker so it's okay. I WILL NOT smoke another cigarette. I am now officially a vaper, not a smoker.
