Hi Everybody. I'm a Seattle gal with the stereotypical coffee addiction :). I started vaping last September on a "LuxuryLites" e-cig, but last week decided to get an Ego T900. I must say I love the choices of E-Juice! I'm still very dumb when it comes to all the lingo and PV parts and what not, but i'm learning. :) Being a Moderator on another (non e-cig) forum and checking out other forums, I'm hoping this forum isn't like some others where I'll get slammed for not using the the correct "language", haha!

I was a pack a day smoker for many years, and decided to slowly cut down. I'm now down to 2 or 3 cigarettes a day, with vaping/snus/and nasal snuff being my primary nicotine intake methods. Since I started vaping, I find I can smell things better and food tastes incredible!! I think I just need to get over the habit of feeling the sensation of inhaling warm smoke. But I now can say that I can do without the stink of cigarettes. I still smoke an occasional bowl of pipe tobacco....but it smells better. :)

Anyhow, I look forward to being part of this forum. And I don't mind the beginner's 5 post requirement. It sure beats going to a forum and seeing a bunch of crap spam.

Say SeaTown, I was stationed NSD Seattle, aboard USS Burton Island, (AGB-1), moored port side too pier 91, Naval Supply Depot. Prolly afore you were born. Smoked cigs for more than 52 years. Found out about eCigs three years ago. Since finding them, I've quit tobacco totally. Feb 21st I went into hospital for bowel surgery. They found I also had COPD, kept me 10 days. Got out. . .4 days later I relapsed, bowel resection leaked, back into a different hospital. This time they kept me 12 days. Now, I don't vape anymore. I was slowly working my way out of it anyway. Had quit using any flavoring, and quit using any nicotine. It was all just "hand to mouth oral gratification" to me. Welcome aboard. And good luck with your "quit".

Cheers,
otrpu

Welcome ! :)

Another newb here... quit back in February myself after 46 years of smoking.. AND a huge reality check from the doc who assured me my esophageal ulcers would be cancer in less than two years if I did not quit STAT. Esophageal cancer is not a pretty thing. I know because I'm a nurse and I have had patients to succumb to this. After WANTING to quit for about the past ten years, it was this shocker news from my doc and my EGD films he showed me that finally gave me the kick in the .... I needed to call it quits.

Went out and purchased a cheap off brand e-cig at the local gas station food mart and haven't looked back since. What I HAVE done is find all kinds of neat stuff to look into.. and buy..e juice flavors, e-cig styles, makes, accessories and supplies (upgrading is fun!)..... and this WONDERFUL forum right here !!! :thumb:

For me, too, it was so much the hand to mouth behavioral habit, as well as needing throat hit... more than nicotine itself. I love that I can still satisfy all those needs and cravings now without harming my health... or smelling like an ash tray. I love that I can SMELL again... all the early spring blooms and grasses and blossoms. I love that I'll be able to play tag and hide and seek with my little grandson this summer without getting short of breath after ten little running steps. I love not freaking out anytime I get in a "no smoking zone" ... which is just about EVERYWHERE anymore...and that I can still vape anywhere, any time. Airports and cross country plane trips don't cause me the "oh no, I can't smoke" anticipation jitters any more. :D

So be "calm and carry on" ... you're going to DO this and do it WELL! You have more than enough support right here... we've all got each others' back.

Congrats on your choice. Now LIVE and live fully. :headbang:

And a hello back at you :)

I'm sure somebody will pipe up with "language" comments, that's just the way things are :p illegitimi non carborundum, eh?

Of course, the manufacturers add to the confusion, with the same devices called by 41 different names, vendors compound it by "branding" something and adding another name....

Wecome to ECF.
