Hiya ECF!

I've been creepin your forum for about a month and a half now, so I figure it's about time to introduce myself and jump into the action!
My name is Holly, I'm 28 and living in Alberta Canada. I started smoking analogs at age 10 and had a habit going by 13. Almost everyone in my immediate family smokes/smoked. My grandmother died from lung cancer and although my father had begun to develop lung cancer as well, which he later beat, he ended ended up kicking the bucket as a result of a blood clot issue, which could have also been related to smoking...
The way I saw it was if I wanted to see my nieces and nephew grow up I'd better kick the nasty habit before it kicks me. After numerous attemps at quitting the coffin nails cold turkey I came across ecigs early this December. THANK GOD.

After what I *thought* was a lot of research I ordered myself a SafeCig starter kit from the folks down south. At this point I hadn't found this forum and didn't realize what a hassle it is to get this stuff into Canada from another country, nor did I have any idea just how many different kinds of ecigs were out there to choose from.

Worrying that I wouldn't be able to get my SafeCig stuff past the border everytime, and knowing that there was a possibility of having to use analogs while waiting on an order from the US I promptly visited the Candian Suppliers forum and found a treasure trove of sites to choose from.

I ended up settling on a 510 EV Custom Kit and some other goodies from electro vapors, and I have to say I'm generally quite happy with it so far. At first I thought I might feel a bit silly smoking from somthing so fancy looking - with a blue LED, shiny titanium and all - but as it turns out I seem to really enjoy the personalization side of vaping. It's almost as if this has become a new lifestyle - a hobby even. Sometimes I find that even just the fiddling with the carts and cartos can keep my mind off analogs.

As of today I have been a non-smoker for 1 month, 1 week and 5 days. Incredible. It's remarkable how much healthier I feel already... how much better things smell and taste. Living in Canada, I think the best perk to quitting smoking so far has been the rise in body tempuarture! Staying warm in chilly weather is just that much easier now!

I've got a ton of questions but I think I'll save them for a different thread and leave this one as my little indroduction.

Looking forward to learning the ropes from a great community!
See ya around,
-H

Hello and Welcome from one long time reader, first time poster to another! Congratulations on successfully quitting smoking and thank you for sharing. It looks like we both came out of the closet at the same time.

Thank you kindly and welcome to you too!
Cheers to leaving behind the creepin closet! :toast:
