First off I would like to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. My name is Jeff, I live in the absolute middle of nowhere in Missouri, I am an EMT/ Part Time Student. I have been using my E-cig for about two days now, and so far I really like it. I do have a couple of questions like every other newbie. I was suckered into buying the "mall" brand and so far it's just ok. I am totally confused on which one to buy next. The current one that I have is the Smoke 51 Trio. The battery life is okay on it but it seems that the cartridges are not lasting as I was told they would. The main reason why I bought this model is because It wasn't to expensive and I was told the cartridges would be about the equivalent to 1 1/2 to 2 packs. I found out that's a lie lol. The taste is less than satisfying, and the atomizer seems to be getting very hot after about 6 drags. I have done some research and found that a lot of people like the 510 models, but the battery life seems to be short. Is there an e-cig out there that will last most of the day, battery and cartridge? Size and color are no big deal to me, and I wouldn't even mind changing the battery in the middle of the day, but I would like one that I only have to change the cartridge each morning, kinda like opening a fresh pack each day. I don't mind learning how to do refill my own, but some help would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance for all of your comments and recommendations!
Jeff

Hi Jeff and welcome to ECF, this is a great place for lots of info. I upgraded to the joye 510 after going through a store bought brand and within a week upgraded again to the joye eGo (which is a 510 with a bigger battery) anyway, that has worked great for me and the battery lasts me all day. Best of luck!!

Be well

I have looked into the eGo as well, as it has the battery life that will work for me. My main concern is finding a cartridge that will last a while. I have seen that most say they will last about 5-7 analogs. I am looking for one that will actually be about a pack or so. This may be a stretch, and maybe it's not out there, but surely somebody makes one that lasts a while. I bought the e-cig with the intent to quit smoking and to stop smelling like an ashtray at work. A lot of the people I work with don't smoke and it would be nice not to stink like a cig every time I go to a pt's home or at the hospital. Jeff

Hey Jeff! I started with a 510, and was going to get a charging case for it when I saw Liberty Flights had the 510 Riva for $30 (only a few bucks more than a PCC for the 510). A charge on my Riva has lasted me all day. However a cartridge does not. It seems to last me around 3-5 cigarettes. My atomizer gets warm too after 6 drags if they are in quick succession. I think that's pretty normal. One thing you might want to look into is mega-carts or cartomizers, even mega-cartomizers. They hold more liquid so you're not swapping them out as frequently.

Careful, if you get the eGo mega or xl then you will need a needle and syringe to fill them properly. Otherwise, you will be back here in a short time trying to figure out how to fill them.

If you get the Joye mega or Joye 510 cartos, make sure you pick up the syringe and 18 gauge needle to fill them. Then, watch the videos on how to fill them. The Riva 510 is a great suggestion. Liberty Flights has the best price right now.

Otherwise, just get some BOGE 510 cartos. They have a soft tip that can be taken off and filled pretty easily. They're out of a lot of e-liquid choices, though.

If you want to pick up some good samples, etc...to try, Gourmet Vapor has a sale going on, 60% off flavored liquids. Coupon code: VAPETV60

The eGo with a mega cart and mega atty should last most of the day. There's definitely a learning curve to all this, both hardware and juice. I started with a 901, then onto an eGo, and now I'm using a Saber Touch. Tried carts, and cartomizers, and decided I like dripping better. When I started vaping in August, I really had no idea what I was getting into!! I just bought another mod in the classifieds, every time I think I'm good, I find something else I decide to try. It takes a while to find what works for you, especially juice, it can be frustrating but once you figure out what you like, it is truly worth the effort.

I ordered my mega eGo stuff from Health Cabin, and even though it shipped from China, it got to Massachusetts in 6 days. The shipping is expensive, but they had the colors I wanted, so I placed a big order with extra attys and batteries to make it worth it.

CHEERS!

I don't think anyone can give an exact answer on how long a carto or battery will last. It depends on how much you vape. There used to be a guy on here (maybe still around) who claimed to have vaped 24 cartomizers in only a few days. That to me is ridiculous, and this type of abuse is why so many places want them banned. But I digress.

I use a regular 808, standard cartomizer, and even when I was just coming off a pack a day habit, one cart lasted me all day. I almost never had to worry about the battery lasting either. Now, one 24mg cart will last 3-4 days for me. If you were a really heavy smoker then maybe you need 5ml of juice a day, and a massive club sized battery to tide you over.

Thanks! I think I have my order figured out. I have the riva 510, 30ml pg juice, 5 pack of boge 2ohm cartomizers, and a drip tip. How long can I expect the 30ml to last, or how many drips is usually in a 30ml bottle. I see that these cartomizers take about 8 to 10 drips. If I need a needle to fill I can always get them at work, just one of the benefits. I am not a very heavy smoker, about a pack or so a day, maybe more depending on stress level at work.
