Newbie Here too: Vapor4Life Cartomizer Lifespan Help?

Hi all, I just got my Ultimate Manual Vapor4Life kit today with an 8mg cartomizer. (Although I ordered 18mg cartomizers, they were missing and just posted about it another thread until V4L responds to my customer support ticket and send me the correct cartomizers).

Anyway, am just too excited to try eCigs for the first time today and decided to try it now (actually just bought a pack of Marlboro Lights 3 hours ago, due to the disappointment of the missing 18mg cartomizers). It really feels like cigarette!!! That being said I have been puffing continously the low 8 mg cartomizer. How long can I use a cartomizer and how would I know if I need to replace it with a new one? Am really challenging myself not to smoke my Marlboro Lights.
Until I finish the 5 pc 8mg cartomizer pack, until hopefully next week.

Thanks for any advise. BTW, I am really shocked how helpful, supportive and nice people are in this Forum. Truly amazing.

Depends on how you vape, maybe a couple hours. Just don't vape them bone dry or you'll burn them and you won't be able to refill them.

Any stores around you that sell juice? You can add some juice to your cartos until your new ones arrive.

I didn't know but there were several places around me that sold e-cig supplies they just didn't advertise it. Hit every smoke shop in your area I don't know about New York but Texas has places called Tobacco Barn and other assorted places like that. Also Head shops had them in my area you know where you can get smoking paraphenellia and tats. This happened to me when I first started and I couldn't get anything quit enough so I bought a pack of smokes and smoked the whole thing until my supplies arrived it set me back a little but I haven't had one since that was 4 months ago. I've never looked in an actual shop, but when I order from nhaler I get it the next day (we're both in NJ). If this person needed juice quickly until his/hers came in I'd try looking for a shop like you suggested or a vendor close by. I think V4L is in IL.

I get 4-7 days use out of a V4L carto. That is actually 1-2 weeks but I only vape the VL 1/2 the time and a 510 w/ carto for the other 1/2. And when I am done with a carto because it's performance has gone down, I usually keep it to try cleaning later. SOme people are successfully with cleaning and drying them and some are not. I plan to try that once and if it doesn't work out sell i will just toss them when I am done with them.

Did you get some eliquid - you should keep the carto damp to get good life out of them. Run them dry and you can singe the stuffing and ruin the carto.

I have no idea how long one will last if you add no eliquid and run it dry. But you better order juice now.

Pop the cap on the end that you put your mouth on. That little white plug with the hole in it. If it looks wet, it's wet. If it looks dry, it's probably dry. Put a few drops of juice on it.

Are you asking how long the cartos last or how long the prefilled cartos last?

You'll probably be able to tell - either the flavour will change (subside) and/or you'll feel the cartomizer getting warmer when you puff on it and staying warm/hot -- that's your indicator that it's time to change it. As others have said, don't throw it way, store it. Also, hang on to the little plastic ends (condoms) that come with each of your cartomizers -- they'll come in handy later if you decide to try refilling your used cartomizers.

That's not going to last long. I went through 3 11mg in one day. I should have ordered stronger carts. You've got no juice?

When you have juice... I add juice whenever the vapor seems light or a bit dry and I can't revive the vapor by tilting the ecig carto down for 5 secs. Take the carto off the battery when you add juice. Use a small smooth unbent paper clip leg and sick it just far enough in the mouth hole to pop out the soft end cap. Those are called soft-caps. I hold a piece of tissue on the threaded end hole (some use the V4L hole plug and condom it came with instead). I tilt the carto and drip juice into the stuffing - usually 5-8 drops if it will take them then more if it wants it. If it dripped I clean it up well. Regardless I puff into the threaded end with the open end down into the tissue to clear the air channel. If any juice is pooled above the stuffing I clean that up. Then cap and use.

When you start with a blank you fill it (usually 20-28 drops), do the cleanup, then let it sit (I lay it on different sides to help the juice really soak into all areas. if you vape a blank to soon after filling you may singe it. let it soak in. When you first vape a newly fileld and soaked-in blank it may take several drags to get it going.
