Did you get something worked out with fasttech? I'm really curious whether or not you can do a pick-up from them living in HK. I used to live there and for vaping sake, I'm glad I no longer do :)

i placed an order with FTech...we'll see how long it takes...they don't have any retail shops and won't let people (Retail) go to the factory. it's a shame as Shenzhen is so close...will keep evertone posted...

u should've ordered from taobao n not from fasttech. fasttech operates in singapore/malaysia/philppines/hk, and when i orderd my ecigs from fasttech, they were all shipped out from singapore, so im guesssing which ever warehouse has the stock will ship out the item. as for ejuices, a) its illegal to import into hk, so ull have to find a way to discreetly mail them in and 2) i would not trust juices from china, so order from big/popular sites from overseas.

I think he will be fine. I personally hate Taobao and as someone else has already said, too much of the stuff on there is fake. The juice is the big question mark and it doesn't matter where he orders from, that's going to be an issue in HK. And I'm confused why you would tell him to order from Taobao if you don't trust China juices? Hangsen, Dekang, and Liqua are all fine juices that are manufactured in China. The idea that ALL juices from China are somehow dangerous is just fear mongering and something that has already been discussed extensively here and elsewhere.

E-cigs with no nicotine are available at many places in HK, I've seen plenty of young people with them at popular hangouts. The big issue is e-juice with nicotine as getting caught trying to import it or having it can result in a fine of about $13,000 USD and two years in jail. Being a resident of HK the OP would be in serious trouble trying to bring the e-juice into HK on his own. On the other hand HK immigration does allow non-residents to bring e-juice into the country for personal use if it is legal in the country they are coming from. In other words what the OP really needs is kind traveler to accidentally leave him a bottle or two behind when they visit HK.

Thanks all...I have seen many juice companies (US, UK etc) that are selling juices from China & it seems like Hangsen is very popular & gets good reviews.
I'll see if Fastech delivers & may bring some in on my next trip abroad. I'm not a HK citizen & have been here for almost 7 years working for an American company...so it should be for my person;a use as a visitor. If all else fails Singaw...I'll let you know when I come to Manila...the San Miguel is on me! ;-)

Hi Southie. I am in Hong Kong too. (Resident, not visiting) I travel a lot on business and haven't had any problems leaving or returning to HK with my vaping gear and juice, so long as you are reasonably discreet about it and don't attempt to bring in more than you need for personal use. You won't have any issues ordering the hardware from any of the sites which ship internationally, but many of them get a bit more wibbly when it comes to shipping the juice. The ones that WILL ship to HK from China usually ship via a third country (so take a few weeks), and lots of the ones in the USA either won't ship to us at all, or take the "if it gets stopped/sent back" it is your loss. I only order juice online if I mistime a trip to a country where juice is legal, or if I don't know anyone going on a trip there.

I read a lot about all this "if you are caught with an e-cig in HK you will be arrested, fined and possibly jailed", and it makes me smile. At my local bar, people vape openly, and one of my friends is a senior police officer who told me that the police have bigger issues to deal with, and the laws as stated were really designed to stop wholesale import from across the border.

Enjoy your vaping!

Hi Torquay!
Thanks for your response...sorry I've not been reading this for a couple of days as I've been swamped! I ordered some gear from FasTech & they just replied that they can ship the Ego's but not the liquid. So...I will accept the Egos anyway. I still need my juice! ;-)
So...I placed an order for juice only with chinavtrade.com today...I'll see what they say. I figured if they say no, I can cancel the entire order...less hassle.

If you don't mind me asking..when you order juice online who do you use? It could come in handy if I can't get to teh Philipines often enough. I'd love to meet some other vapers in HK...this stuff is so cool!
Any info on these 2 would be more than appreciated as I really need to get off the Marlboro Menthols...they're literally killing me! :(
Thanks
Doug

Greetings! I hope you can get situated with your vaping situation... But speaking of youtubers who have vaping channels, have you watched Timmy Chin? I believe he's from Malaysia but I'm sure that's closer than a lot of other youtubers and maybe by watching him, you can get a better idea of what's available near you? Besides that, I think he's pretty cool.

No. Fasttech does not operate in Singapore/Malaysia/Philippines/HK. It operates from China. Depending on the postal carrier chosen for your package, tracking MIGHT show that it's coming from those places. But the packages all originate from China.

This is so true.
I travelled to HK during my first bout with e-cigs, and actually fell back off the wagon while I was there.

I was going for 3 weeks to work with the military and the prison system, so when I found out about the laws there, I asked my handler and he told me the same thing TorquayGirl said (but didn't clarify that visitors could bring their own in).

Still I packed the bare minimum I thought would get me by (using Blu at the time), and still sweated bullets through customs. There were no problems getting through, but I was still nervous and everyone around me was smoking, so I broke down and bought tobacco.

One of the colonels I was working with found out I had brought an ecig and was nervous about it, so he started harassing me about the it. Twice, after I tried going back to the Blu, he caught me puffing on it (on government property, no less) and started running at me waving his baton shouting something in Chinese- and then fell out laughing. He brought an MP by me one day while I was working and had him act like he was searching my bags and cases, then sniffed me..."Stink like cigarette. Good. You free."

It wasn't until a night or two before I left that I saw a couple people vaping in public, but the damage was already done. I was back on tobacco.

I am back on the wagon, thank you for asking, and the wife is on it with me this time.

It's amazing what a small up-tick in equipment quality makes. This time around (4+ weeks, now) I started with eGo batteries and Kanger bottom dual-coil tanks. Nothing terribly expensive, but quality enough to provide a consistent experience. We've also got a couple spinner batteries and an iTaste vv, and 8 of the Kanger tanks between us so we can switch up flavors frequently throughout the day. Putting down the cigarettes was almost instantaneous. When you have equipment that provides the experience you're looking for every time you pick it up, it doesn't take long to realize how much more satisfying vaping is than smoking, and how terrible smoking makes you feel. Before long, you start forgetting where you left your cigarettes.

The biggest difference, though, and it sounds like it is going to be the most difficult one for you, is quality juice. Good quality, good tasting juice of the right PG/VG and nicotine mix for you makes it something you WANT to do, rather than something you have to force yourself to do instead of smoking a cigarette.

As proof of this, on a whim, I bought a couple refillable cartomizers, filled them with a couple of our favorite juices, and dug the old Blu batteries out of the drawer. Mind you, the Blu batteries are small to begin with, and have been sitting empty in a drawer for a year, so they're far from peak performance. Still, with decent juice in a decent quality cartomizer, they provide a great experience - really like smoking a cigarette without the nasty taste.

I always liked the packaging and methodology of the Blu kit, but found the experience severely lacking. It was a struggle to convince myself to use it in place of tobacco. But, I've come to realization that the only real problem with Blu is that their cartridges suck. Poor flavors, and the 100% VG blend did not give me what I was needing at the time as someone struggling to be an ex-smoker. Screw something with a little throat-hit and flavor onto those same batteries, and the experience is perfect. I wish I'd known that a year ago. I'm confident I would be celebrating my anniversary as a non-smoker right now.

We've enjoyed the resurrection of the old Blu kit so much that we've ordered a couple PCCs and a handful of manual 510 batteries from Volcano to use for travel and out/about use.

It sounds like you'll be able to get your hands on the equipment without too much trouble. You don't need to spend a lot of money, but give yourself a couple options - maybe an eGo set-up with a spare battery and tank, and maybe a small 510 cigarette-sized option - you'll find something that works for you in there. But do everything you can to get your hands on good quality juice of several different flavors. Finding something that feels and tastes good when you vape it makes all the difference.

southie161, if you're looking for some juice you can go to CTMA centre in Mong Kok. They have maybe 8-10 different flavours, they're all nicotine-free because of Hong Kong laws but they taste pretty good. I bought the lemon and cappucino flavour and I am enjoying them throughly. They only sell one e-cig though and that is the Ego-T.

To get to the store just go into CTMA through the main entrance, go down two floors on the escalator and the shop in front of you should have some shisha pens in their window. Good luck.

Wow, I didn't even know it was illegal in Hong Kong. That's so sad! How hard that must be to try to quit the tobacco when you're not even allowed to try to switch to e-cigs instead. I wish you the best of luck in your journey! Now that I smoke electronic cigarettes, I rarely even have an urge for an analog nowadays. It took a while, obviously, but I never imagined that it was possible. Again, I wish you the absolute best of luck!!
And GunMonkey, my heart dropped when I read the end of your first post. I'm so happy to hear that at least you're back on the bandwagon again. That takes strength!
Much love to all of you!
