Okay, I suppose an introduction would be good (especially needing that magical FIVE posts, LOL). I ordered the Magma Deluxe kit (510) from Volcano two weeks ago, and WOW is all I can say! I've been a 2 1/2 pack a day smoker (Marlboro Reds) for the past 25 years, and FINALLY I've found something that will do it. The thing is I don't WANT to quit smoking. I like my nicotine. But the other horrible effects are obviously not cool. However, if I can get my nicotine this way and still get the smoking feeling, then so much the better! I tried for one day to vape only and not use analogs, and I had NO PROBLEM with it at all. Of course I'm still learning and do need to get stronger nic strength, but I can't believe how great it works!

I was turned on to them last year. I'm a cop, and I was responding to a residential burglary in progress. I lost control of my unit and flip/roll/bounce/flip ended up in the hospital with my neck broken in two places and a bunch of other broken crap and severe brain swelling. Anyway, after getting out of ICU and to a regular room, one of my partners brought me an "electronic cigarette" that he said I could use and be discreet with it and they'd never know. They also had a strong nic patch on me. Anyway, that thing really got me through the rest of my stay there! I came home and started researching, and finally here I am all set up with it and reading my eyeballs out to learn as much as I can.

I'm ordering empty cartos and blue foam and also a good bit of liquid. I also really like the tobacco flavored prefill cartos from Volcano, but they only go up to 16mg on cartos and juice. So I'm gonna have to get 36mg elsewhere so I don't have to CONSTANTLY vape just to equal the analogs I'm used to.

Anyway, that's how I got turned on to them and man I'm glad I did. I'm diving in head first now. For me, vaping will not be a tool to quit smoking. It will simply be a REPLACEMENT for analogs.

So, did y'all catch the burgler?

Yep he was caught. Well, *I* didn't catch him as I was obviously otherwise occupied and unconscious. A couple responded to the house and I think every officer from a few agencies responded to MY scene. I'm told it looked like a cop rally except for the med helo that was my lifeflight. Man I've always wanted to ride in a helicopter too, but not THAT way! They ended up having to cut the top half of my car away from the bottom with the jaws to get me out of it. It was a BRAND NEW patrol car too dammit!! Very nice and had everything set up how I liked it, and now it's junk.

Strange, I can't imagine why they'd pull you over for that. I just looked up the various eGo styles and none of them would give me any reason to actually pull you over. Now, if I had already pulled you over for something else and saw it (and not knowing anything about vaping or what it was) I would probably take a look at it to make sure you didn't have some newfangled crack device (trust me, you'd be AMAZED at how many different inventions we see!). But if you just passed me and I saw you puffing on it, while driving and unable to look closely, I might assume you were smoking a cigar or pipe maybe. It certainly wouldn't give me PC in and of itself to stop you though.

I'm an attorney and devote about 30% of my practice to criminal defense work. We were having a bit of fun with that thread.

On one of the other threads, someone was mentioning a good way to determine whether a cartomizer was running empty, by using a highly sensitive electronic scale. I couldn't help but think how onje would explain their wetbox mod, syringe for filling cartos, and electric scale all in one bag. Some folks get carried away with this endeavor.

I started with the Magma as well. I really like it for it portability although I started using cartomizers (after reading a post here) and really like them, longer life, less waste/mess then the carts.

I also got a chance to try the GLV (5v) from Great Lakes Vapor and WOW; just ordered one for myself today... (Happy Birthday I guess).

PS I come from a family of law enforcement/military; thank you for your service!

Hey congrats on your success. My first e- cig was a Magma and have since moved on to a box mod, but I just got some cartomizers for ikenvape the IKV510 and they work wonderfully on my Magma battery. They are much better than using the atty's and carts that come with the Magma. I can get 30 drops in one and this last me about 2 hours of chain vaping. I also get much more flavor than with the Magma atty. Something you may want to order to try on your Magma. At least till the Magma cartomizers come out.

RADICALJD: Oh man, a defense attorney. You are now officially on my least favorite person here list. LOL .... j/k j/k .... but yeah, if I ran across all that crap in one kit and had never seen these before, I'd definitely be raising both eyebrows and asking many questions as I examined it.

THE BIG CHIEF: Thanks for the welcome! I'm assuming you're LE as well, perhaps a chief? I get what you're saying. I've certainly lit people up for the same reason in the past, just not with these (probably only because I've never come across them). However, these actually could be used for (big-word-to-sound-smart-alert) nefarious purposes.

ZEROTAO: You're welcome, though it's really just a job. I will probably PM you about a couple of things you mentioned.

JMAUL99: Definitely need to PM you, because I'm curious as to what I can use from other suppliers with my Magma. I'm told the Magma is a "510" and that pre-filled 510 carts should fit it just fine. Is this correct?

No, prefilled carts are to small for the Magma atty. You must use the Magma carts with the Magma atty. Any Attys or cartomizers will fit the Magma battery, however. If you want to use a cart that is not designed for the Magma atty you need to buy a standard joye 510 atty and use it on your Magma battery. Basically the Magma battery has a standard 510 connector and can be used with any 510 atty or carto. The Magma atty has a standard 510 connector, but is larger than a standard 510 atty on the cart end so a standard cart is to small. Hope this answers your questions.

Yes it did, thank you. I can always just reuse empty Magma carts, which is what I plan to do. I'll order their tobacco flavor carts anyway (I actually like the taste), and when one is done simply save it and use it with blue foam and liquid to make my own carts after that. Over time I'm sure I'll have attys from other places and other things from other places and end up mixing and matching this and that anyway. I just need them to get their man batts back in stock so I can use those for dripping, which I won't do very often anyway for a couple of reasons.

Glad to see you here MacTX and as others have said, thanks for your service and I hope you fully recovered from your injuries.

The great thing about this site is not what you do for a living, but the fact that you are getting away from cigarettes and preparing yourself for a longer, healthier life. There is a tremendous wealth of knowledge here as well as support and encouragement. Just a lot of really good people with the same goal.

Again, I'm glad your here, welcome!
